Recommendations being accepted...

....for a t.v. upgrade.

Looking to increase from 32inch to say, 40-43 (direct view?), hdtv monitor. I was thinking direct view since I'm not going higher than 43, but will consider rear proj. if the pic. quality is worth it (keep in mind, my seating area is only about 8foot from where the set would reside).

Comments/recommendations are greatly welcome... what's the best out there?

The largest direct view being made is the Sony 40XBR unless you are looking for a flat panel plasma.

ewww.... can't afford a plasma (mmmm.... plasma) driver television (yet). looking at like $2500.00

lemme' look up the specs for the sony.... thanks. anyone else? fish don't seem to be biting this morning.

Hmm...i'd be interested in this also....I am probably going to get an RPTV, but if i can find a nice deal on a direct view....

For that range, there is the 40" non widescreen VVega I believe and there are 34" widescreen HDTVs

If you want 40 and widescreen, RPTV is the option.

FYI, I have the 34" Tau and love it
