Enya fans...which CD should I get for my SIL?

My sister-in-law has expressed interest in Enya. She heard one of her songs on a compilation album and wants to hear more. Judging from her music tastes, I think she would really like Enya. Which album would you suggest for a first one? Memory of Trees? Watermark? Another?

I liked Shepherd Moons as my favorite, this was the CD that made me become her fan. With great songs liked Caribbean Blue, Ebudae, and my favorite of all Marble Halls. Highly recommend.

Shepherd Moons has most of Enya's hits, but Watermark has "Orinoco Flow", one of the best Enya songs ever.

Watermark got me hooked on Enya and now I own all her CDs and then some.

I agree with Mllefoo. Shepard Moons has most of her hits. Watermark got her recognized though.

One thing to consider though is Paint the Sky With Stars. Its a greatest hits CD. Its quite good and it has a couple of newer tracks.

The new CD "A Day without Rain" is quite good and one of her best as well.

The hits is a must.

If she likes the new song I'd either get the new album or the recently released single.

If this is a christmas gift, I'd consider getting Watermark, the new disk, and something by Clannad which is the band Enya started with. I suggest "Fuaim" (sp).

I personally think any Enya CD will do. I think her voice is enchanting indeed.

I would bypass Enya and go straight for Clannad.

They have a greatest hits with one of the best songs on it
In A lifetime.

Enya came from Clannad. This is her start.

Excellent stuff, and not as derivative of a lot of Enya music.

I absolutely LOVE the song "Na Bauchaille Alainn" (literally translates as "Beautiful Boy"). It's one of those Celtic dance songs that gets stuck in your head, and you don't even mind.

Personally, my favorite album by Enya is Watermark, though I have a lot of friends who say Shepard Moons is better. You really can't go wrong with either one. Of course, you could just take the lame way out and get the new CD, A Day Without Rain.

To me, the feel of Watermark is very nautical, and reminds me of when I used to race sailboats. Not because I was listening to it at the time, just the ebb and flow of the music itself. It's a very soothing album. I used to fall asleep to it every night, and today it's the only Enya CD I routinely carry in the car. It was also the first Enya CD I ever owned, and the one that really hooked me on her music. It's just a shame I don't think any album before or since gels together as a whole as well as this one does.

To buy an Enya Greatest Hits CD, well, that's like buying a Pink Floyd Greatest Hits... you listen to the album, not the individual songs.
