Picked up POTA @ Wal-Mart & it's great!
I bought Planet of the Apes @ Wal-Mart & just got through watching it... It's REALLY good!
I didn't see it @ the theater, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It was actually pretty good.
Chapter 5- 13:04 - 14:47 ROCKS!! It's the Crash Landing scene. Plenty of deep, pounding bass & excellent use of the surrounds! It's demo quailty!
The story line was good as were the characters. I rate it (0= Sucked - 5= Excellent):
Audio- 4.5 (great surround usage)
Video- 4.0 (some of the filming was a bit dark)
Story Line- 3.0 (good job, seeing as though it was a remake. Didn't follow the original much at all, but I'm pleased with it)
Extras- Yet to watch disc 2 or 3, so no # (will post as soon as I watch)
This is a three disc set:
Disc 1 has the Movie, Commentaries, Bios, Screen Tests, Enhanced Viewing Mode, Nuon features & THX Optimode.
Disc 2 has the extras.. 6 Documentaries, 5 Extended scenes, HBO Special, Multi-Angle viewing, Music video, Concept Art, Trailers & DVD ROM features.
Disc 3 is a Limited Edition CD ROM.. It has a Charlton Heston interview, "Making of" featurettes, The Forbidden Zone?, Movie Posters, Stills, Bios & more!
Dolby Digital 5.1 & DTS, Anamorphic Widescreen 2:35:1
Overall, I'm glad I took a chance with this one!

If one of your inserts is square, as opposed to retangular, and has a picture of Thade on it, there's your CD-ROM (check inside the sleeve)--if you have no such insert, you got screwed...
