600 CDs and not a Floyd one among 'em.... Got nothing against 'em, but for some reason they always make me feel like I'm in high school when I listen to 'em. Traumatic memories!

Same here. all I have to do is flip on the radio and I'll be up to my neck in pink floyd.

I am thinking about the compilation, since it looks like it was thoughtfully produced.

Is that gold Dark Side of Moon a Mobile Fidelity CD?

I have an incredible Japanese EMI/Toshiba vinyl version of it.

Everything worth having (almost the whole catalogue from Piper onward).

Compilations for Floyd are pointless if you're anything more than a casual listener (!?)

My proudest PF possesions are the Box Set Early Singles/Rarities and the Live At Pompeii LD (dammit, we want the DVD, rights-holders-wherever-you-may-be...)

They are the foundation for all I love in rock music.

I disagree. I am pretty hardcore Floyd. My buddy yesterday said "Hey nobodys home at my house." I started singing to myself "I've got rubber bands keeping my shoes on...I've got those...swollen hand blues..."

I could have made Echos myself with my CD burner...but I think it is a very good study of their music in one large compilation...it is interesting to listen to the tracks flow into each other...

I actually have all Floyd's albums on vinyl. The original poster and sticker inserts from Dark Side of the Moon are simply awesome. I have a couple of them framed.

I remember that by the middle of 10th grade, EVERYONE loved Led Zeppelin, but only half the kids liked Pink Floyd.

I only have Meddle on cd (& a couple of 70s live boots). My dad has all the records & some cds. I used to listen to all his stuff & haven't felt the need to pick up my own copies.

Am I alone in my love for Obscured by Clouds? I never hear this one mentioned. My favorite album is Wish You Were Here, but Obscured by Clouds & Meddle are both right behind it. I also love a lot of Barrett's songs & have always hated The Wall.

Absotively posolutely not. It's one of PF's most underrated albums...how can you not love "Childhood's End" (arguably the best song Gilmour wrote himself), "Free Four" and "Wots, Uh...The Deal" among other strong tracks?

"More" has some mighty fine cuts on it too (PF's other 'soundtrack' album) even if it does have filler.

Toxygen,
You should check out Richard Wright's "Wet Dream", his debut album from 1978. It has Mel Collins and Snowy White (among others), is half instrumental, and is really outstanding. Definately has that "Pink Floyd" sound. Really overlooked album. One of the best tracks is "Pink's Song".
As for my Pink Floyd CDs, I got 'em all (the legit releases), a far number of boots (including the incredible and legendary 4 CD rarities box set "Total Eclipse"), and almost all the solo albums.
Do any of you guys have "The Moon Revisited" tribute CD? It's a collection of contemporary prog bands doing "Dark Side" album in it's entirety. Really good.

Yeah, I heard wet dream was good, i might check it out someday.. I'm not a big fan of tribute albums though, except for that one symphonic floyd which wasnt too bad.. but I've heard techno tribute, progressive tribute, and country tribute, and I hated all of them.. the only "tribute" if you wanna call it that is the "Rebuild The Wall" project by Luther Wright and the Wrongs.. which, believe me.. you have to hear it.. it's the most.. i dunno what to call it, all I'll say is that I was LMAO for a good half hour just from hearing the samples on the webpage.. Most casual floyd fans I know will listen to almost all the tributes but for some reason they dont like this one
