UPDATE: Classsic Monster Collection @ Blockbuster

I checked the computer at Blockbuster last night and it's still listed as $24.99. The List Price at Amazon is: $159.99 - JUMP ON THIS DEAL BEFORE ALL THE BLOCKBUSTERS FIGURE OUT THE MISTAKE!!!!

I called over 10 Blockbusters in the Bay Area and none of them have it. However, you should be able to special order it, all the stores I called said they would. I ordered mine last night at the BB I work at. They are clueless to the price error!!

Edition Details:
• Black & White, Closed-captioned, Box set
• Parental Lock
• 8-disc boxed set
• The "Classic Monsters Collection" includes eight of Universal's popular monster films, all in deluxe Special Editions:

"Dracula" (1931, 75 min.), "Frankenstein" (1931, 71 min.), "The Mummy" (1932, 74 min.), "The Invisible Man" (1933, 71 min.), "The Bride of Frankenstein" (1935, 75 min.), "The Wolf Man" (1941, 70 min.), "The Phantom of the Opera" (1943, 93 min.), "The Creature from the Black Lagoon" (1954, 79 min.). See individual titles for complete special features.

• Full-screen format
• Number of discs: 8

Thank you for the post - is there a way for you to order me a couple sets? I am from Germany and we don't have this set - I would be happy to give you a good amount of money for each set EXTRA.

Let me know,
thank you very much,

Sebastian.

I tried ordering this on Monday at a BlockBuster and the price was $24.99. It was flagged however and they wouldn't let me order it.

I guess the presence of some character in some field on their screen means it can't be ordered?

I'd love it if you could pick one up for me. The PA/NJ ones I've been to have been less than receptive to it.

My blockbusters haven't worked with this deal, but I'd pay $50 for anyone to ship it to me.

BBDude,

Do you think you could order one for me too? I'm in the Bay area as well.

If you can, please email me.

Thanks!

while i'd love for him to order me a copy too, don't you all think his managers might get suspicious when they suddenly see him ordering 458 copies of the box set?

I just called the local Blockbuster and they 'Can't order' this boxset. Looks like the $24.99 may be in the computer, but I doubt anyone will ever get it .

I ordered mine on 10/4/01 and paid the entire amount on the same day. It came to $26 something with tax. I recieved a phone call a couple days ago from Blockbuster stating that the title was on back order and there was an error in the pricing. It was supposed to be $159.99. I told him that my pink copy of my order form says "paid in full". I told him to call me when the set comes in. Do you think I'll actually get it?

At the top of the reciept it says, "go home happy". We'll just see about that...

Classic Monster Collection

I wasn't flagged when I ordered mine this past Thursday, but I will let you know later this week if there were any problems.

And I'm sorry, I CANNOT order any Classic Monster DVD's for anyone. I don't want to abuse my privlages at BB, plus I have way too many requests. That would look VERY suspicious on my part... I'm in on sharing info and spreading tips with you all... but, not the DVD Black Market... SORRY!!!!

thanks,

You may doubt anyone will ever get it, but many of us already have. I hopped on this deal WAY late, but still was able to get it. Everyone should at least try to get it at every Blockbuster in your local area; it's too great of a deal to pass up.

In all honesty, I don't know! The only time I've been into this Blockbuster was to order the Classic Monster set, and then again today to pick it up.

Thanks for the great find. I picked it up tonight for $24.99 in Honolulu + tax after waiting for less than 3 weeks. No questions asked by the CSR.

No problem, Dude, I'll keep looking around, although it doesn't seem very likely that I'll find it. I'll post if I do though.

I caught on at the end of the misprice "phenomenon" and placed the order at my local BBV in the second week of October. I went to the store yesterday and they told me it was on backorder, but it was still on order. I got a call today saying it was in, so I went in and picked it up. The employee told me that they recieved a memo a couple of days after I ordered it, but they would still give it to me for $24.99 since I prepaid. She was very pleasant about the whole thing.

I tried to get the deal today since I was there being pissed off about the no $2 off anyway, and the counter clerk wrote the form up no problem but said he had to call the warehouse to see if they had it before I paid and they told him it was mispriced in the register. Offered me a 3 DVD set for $69.99 of Frankenstein, Dracula and something else. I stomped out, of course.
