whither Fawlty Towers?

Irritated with Amazon's jerking me around on the Fawlty Towers release date, I cancelled my order and cut over to a new vendor. Now I see that Fawlty's in major backorder everywhere. Can anybody confirm this?

I'm getting seriously annoyed with the state of pre-orders these days. For every 5 DVDs I pre-order, only one seems to arrive on or around the release date!

I saw it listed as in stock at TAU and you should have picked one up during the free shipping promo.

This MAY not be cool..so sorry if this offends Mods....

Buy it retail at Borders or Barnes and Noble and then order from online...keep your receipt, and when the 'Internet' one arives, take that back to the store and either get a refund(COLD BLOODED!!!!) or exchange it for another title.....(Better, but still on morally shaky ground...and this is coming from the KING of returns!)

Definitely not cool, but not more offensive to me as a mod than as a consumer that doesn't believe in abusing stores.

I pre-ordered mine from Deep Discount DVD when they were pricing it at $36.08. I received it two days ahead of release date. I know that they have raised the price since, but you might still order from them.

Do you live like a king in Siam?.

More like a goose...

DeepDiscountDVD's the place I abandoned Amazon for. They're still in backorder, alas. Guess I should count my blessings, though, since now I have plenty of time to spend on the Godfather box...
