Review Wanted: The Beastmaster

I preordered this title. I've seen the movie several times, but not in the past several years. For those who have the DVD already, please let me know what you think of it.
Thanks in advance.

I can't beleive there hasn't been more hype on this release. It was one of my more anticipated releases. All in all if you like the flick I would say run and out and get it. The video is overall good. Some parts the picture looks amazing...other times its only good. Same with the sound. I listened to the DTS track (yup you heard right), and it was overall solid. Now its not a DTS track that you show to your buddies to show off your system or whatever, but there are some cool remasterd parts. If you are fmaliar with any of Anchor Bays other recent DTS tracks you should now what to expect.

The packaging forhe disc is cool too. It comes with a 16 page booklet inside which looks a bit cheesy but still pretty cool. Features are a directors commentary, making of featurette, etc. I'mnot really a huge fan of features but at least they are there.

Hopes this helps man.

PS: Did anyone else notice that the Panther in the movie looks alot like a tiger painted black ???

It is. I think.

I agree with the comments about picture quality. Some scenes/shots looks really good. Others are just okay with noticeable but understandable grain. However, even the worst shots look decent.

Bottom line: If you like the movie, pick it up. It's a great release.

that was a tiger. it ended up dying shortly after the movie was made, thus making beastmaster a part of history... that's when animals got 'rights' as actors...
