Well as far as nationally known bands from Columbus I'd say the New Bomb Turks are decent. I'm not too familiar with the other bands from around here though.

Only one local band I've heard and enjoyed.
Seth Yacovone Blues Band
in this area, I find music is either too punk/hardcore or too HIPPY!

I didn't become a big Phish fan until I moved half-way across the country, far, far away from the isolated boondocks of VT. There's just nothing like a dread-locked tour-rat yelling: "Phatty dank garlic grilled cheese! WTF, only a buck!" in the lot over a whiffin' Divided Sky solo to bring you right back to that Church Street state of mind.
Speaking of the crunchy musical underbelly of Burlington - when is Pure Pop going to wise up and stop charging an arm and a leg for their used discs? I swing by the shop every Christmas when I'm home, just for nostalgia's sake, and I swear every time I'm there, the used disc prices creep up higher.
I could go for some Al's Fries though. [homer]Mmmmm . . . a pint of Al's fries . . . . greeeeaaasssy . . . [/homer]

The Why Store...these chumps opened for my band a few years back. Another case and point that talent is not required to "make it".

Although they aren't from Phoenix, they are from Las Vegas and they play here alot. They are called Hemlock. They sound alot like Sepultura. Great group of guys.
