Review wanted: Snow White

I'm sure the transfer is great. But I for one have never seen the movie. So how has the movie dated and are the extras really worth watching?

WOW!!!

This is the best DVD I have ever seen.

1. The movie looks great for being done in the 1930's, but it's the extra's and menus that puts this over the top.

2. The making of SW tells you details you never knew before and gave me a great respect for how they changed how movies were made.

3. The Menu system was unbelieveable. They are a little slow if you want to zoom around, but cutting edge.

4. My boy loved Dopey's Mine Tunnel Game.

5. The "Goddess of Spring" was boring, though it did tie into the making of SW.

6. I have not even made it to the 2nd disk yet.

This is a must for all DVD collections.

I just spent (literally) 7+ hours going through this set, and I haven't even listened to the audio commentary and the radio broadcasts yet! Great picture, sound, menus and innovative features. It's worth every penny and more. The words exhaustive and extensive come to mind, but I mean that in the best possible way. Buy it now - the magic mirror commands you (it's only available for a limited time too)!

Just watched the feature with my little baby last night. It looks AMAZING!!!!! What a transfer. If you need a comparison on the work they did, watch the Karaoke segment on High-Ho. That's how I always remember the picture looking. When I watched the DVD and saw all the jewels sparkeling in the mine, I almost gasped! I haven't played with the extras yet, but I will.

Random thoughts on the movie:
If The Queen and Snow White were the fairst in the land, it had to be a pretty small land or filled with a lot of homely people.
Didn't you think that Snow White left the dwarfs in a hurry? She wakes up, and ten seconds later she's kissing them goodbye. I thought that was kind of rude, after they built her a tomb and all; stay for dinner at least.

Anyway, the movie was great and the restoration is a thing of beauty.

Made it through about 1/2 of the 2nd disk.

1. Goes into greater detail on how they made the movie.

2. Use the Paper Pull out menu that is inside the DVD case to find out how to navigate around. You don't have to use it, just makes it a little faster.

Once again, this is the best DVD design I have ever seen.

I just picked mine up & lightly went thru it. This set is amazing. It is gonna take some serious time to go thru everything.

The transfer is beautiful. I borrowed my Dad's VHS copy to just see if I wanted to own this disc & i can tell you that it is not like you are seeing the same movie. Bright & colorful.

My only complaint is having Barbara Streisand do a rendition of "Someday My Prince Will Come." Was this really necessary? It is a pretty bland version & all they do is some cuts of the movie during her singing it. I would have rather heard Puff Daddy do a version.

the artwork for the noncartoonish characters was very impressive. color, clarity were amazing, i've never seen snow white before this so i expected a 1937 level movie...this doesn't look it at all

anyhow, they really put work into the menus and bonus features, very interesting stuff. i watched the special features first so i could watch the movie in the correct context.
