This weeks street date violations at my local Wal-mart

A week never goes by without street date violation at my Wally World in Williston, VT. The thing is I have a friend who knows the person in charge of the dept and says he is told by his boss to put out certain titles regardless of street date. That being said, they broke 3 this week.

Terminator
Robocop
Fiddler on the Roof

Hope fully next week they'll break on Godfather. Which I don't intend to buy, but that way we can sell it at my store early

Prices? I'm mainly interested in Terminator.

What's your store? I'll probably get it with just a hint.

stevevt, I didn't scan any of the titles at wal-mart so I couldn't tell you the prices, sorry.

and "my store" is the only music, movies, etc... store in the only mall currently not in a substantial renovation!

Nice hint.

Funny. I was just at the mall today. Went to Ames to buy a paper shredder, which they had 0 of, unfortunately. Would have been a nice deal, according to their flyer anyhow. 20% off and 15% on top of that, I think.

I've been in "your" store a few times. Never bought anything there, though. Let's just leave it at that. (Not suggesting I stole anything.)

You won't hurt my feelings, our prices suck, I know that, it's no big secret. Our business is convenience, mall shoppers are good bait for big prices and my company knows that. Which is why, as you know, Coconuts less than a mile away has a lower price table.

But we do have a kick arse selection of overpriced DVD's though! And I get 30% off! Listen to music, watch movies, catch shoplifters, it's actually a cool job.

Yup. "Your" (heh) prices are standard given your location. The bigger problem I have is with your selection. Of course, that's pretty standard too. The real issue is that I have no business going into any record store in the greater Burlington area and expecting anyone to carry 95% of what I'm looking for.

Sounds great! Are "you" (last time) hiring?

I'm only semi joking, since I'm currently looking for a job. Doing a bit of contract work and some substitute teaching, but they're not filling up most of my time by a longshot.

I saw Robocop at mine today but I sure can't say it would be worth picking up.

Steve, it's a good way to support the habit for sure. "My" store won't hire again until closer to xmas, but the downtown location is in desperate need of management.

I remember the days when I never used my discount cuz I bought everything online dirt cheap with coupons from reel.com and what-not. But now, it's not worth paying shipping because 30% off is the best any online vendors typically do. So I just buy it at the store, order or get it transferred from another store If "we" don't have it.

The selection at "my" store is by most considered very good for our area, but depending on ones movie taste I could see you not finding what your out to get.
