From Here To Eternity Price Error

Deep Discount DVD currently is listing the film From Here To Eternity at $.17. This is obviously an error but worth a shot.

Wow! I just did it, too, and it has worked so far. Thanks a lot! This should probably be in the bargains forum, though.

It's currently out of stock, so either people bought them all up at .17 or they never had them to begin with and for some reason there was a bogus price. I'd bet any orders will be get an email about the error with an inquiry as to ordering at the actual price.

It's not in stock because it is a pre-order.

Just got in and ordered it. As I was signing off, I wondered why I only got one...

Doesn't matter...no way they let this go thru...

Oh well.

It took me a while, but I was finally able to order in Netscape (4.78). If you're persistent, you should get in. Thanks, Classic. I have confidence that DDD will come through.

Crap, I got 0. It would not come up in the basket. But it is listed at 0.17. I was going to place several seperate orders but I guess they would have been cancelled. They seem to be having some major problems at DDD lately.

Hmm...don't mean to jinx anyone, but this is starting to sound like that dtsonline.com fiasco last July 4th. Anyways, good luck for those who did get in!

Just got in on it around 930. It went through fairly easily. Haven't seen the movie, but it seems to be a good one. Whether it comes or not, thanks!

Usually, DDD has very good service. I'm sure that if they change the price and you don't want to pay more, you'll be able to cancel.

No way to check order status How do you cancel an order if you choose to cancel it? Still no email from customer service about it

To cancel an order, just e-mail them ([email protected]) or call them (the 800 # is on their site) with your order number and ZIP code, and they'll do it for you right away. I have always gotten a reply to my e-mail within 1 business day. Best customer service at any e-tailer I've ever used. Also, they said in a thead here the other day that they will soon let you check your order status online.

Man, that was fast! Amazon should take a lesson from DDD regarding damage control. Although they just get their kicks from letting us get in on a deal only to be turned down 36 hours later. We'll see what happens with DDD.

The first order I ever placed with DDD was when they had the Oliver Stone 6-pack mispriced at $60 and change. Their regular price is $140-something, I think. That's about an $80 difference. They honored all of the orders that were placed for it (1 per order, I believe). It would not surprise me at all if they did the same for this.

wow if they honor a 60$ misrpice maybe they'd honor a small 19$ misprice for a new customer like me

something about this bothers me alittle, i mean obviously it was the wrong price and a mistake and a big one at that, feeling that DDD is a very good place to buy online with great prices, why try to take advantage of them? i know we all want something for cheap if not nothing which is why were are here but i personally would feel guilty if i ordered and they held to their mistake. if it where BB or some other place that pisses all over the consumer, hell yeah stick it to them. at any rate, good luck in getting it for .17 , i'm not condeming anyone for doing it, infact if it was a movie i was even remotely interested in i might be whistling a different tune and needless to say if they do honor this, i think it would put their CS off the charts.

Gsuscryst, that’s one of the best posts I’ve read since I’ve been here. DDD is a fine store, I don’t think we should take advantage in the same way we might if it were another store. Think about it folks - maybe they’ll have to raise the price of those 50% off A&E titles to make up for this, not something anyone wants to happen.

I was thinking the same exact thing Gsuscryst.

I honestly would feel bad trying to rip off DDD. Theyre the only online store that has free shipping....sure it takes a LONG ass time (had to wait more than two weeks for a couple orders)...but what other online shops give out free shipping? Not only that, but they have the lowest prices on DVDs on the net and if they dont, they would be glad to lower their prices. I respect DDD way too much to rip em off like that.

I wouldnt mind seeing other shops like Amazon, Buy, and other overpriced online shops being ripped off though!

Hrmm, I placed an order for em earlier today.
If I don't get the DVD, oh well, no big loss.
If I do that's great.
I'm not gonna argue about it or anything though...

But uh, you want Buy to go out of business?
Buy has some of the lowest prices on DVD's.
They are certainly not overpriced.
You should really look at their prices now.
Almost all of my OrderBox orders have been through Buy.com.
The only problem with Buy is that a lot of their DVD's aren't in stock.
