Please help me write a letter to fox about the buy 4 get 1 free promo

Well I just got a letter back from Fox saying the proof's of purchase I sent were wrong. I bought the Die Hard Box Set set in and sent those three and I clearly circled on the reciept it was the box set and those were three they put X's on. I also sent in Point break and I guess it was fine. I heard of people having trouble like this can someone tell me what I should say in the letter so I can get my free DVD? Thanks

Unfortunately, someone verified before that the Die Hard Ultimate boxset is only counted one. That's why they put the 'X' on them. The PoPs from the boxset are the same from the individual ones, but the receipt tells what they are.

I know, it really sucks.

Here's the text of a letter I recently sent. After sending the letter (and materials), I received my free DVD in about a month. Try it. You should be able to use Die Hard as three separate titles.

Dear Sir or Madam:

I am resubmitting my original order and request for the free Mrs. Doubtfire DVD in conjunction with the Fox Buy 4, Get 1 Free DVD Offer.

I urge you to CAREFULLY re-examine the materials submitted. You will notice that I have included 4 proofs of purchase from 4 eligible 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment titles, as required by the terms. You will also notice that I have enclosed the accompanying receipts and packing slips which prove that these eligible titles were purchased during the required time period (3/21/00 – 1/31/01). Furthermore, you will find my check made out in the correct amount to cover the shipping and handling of the title. As this is in compliance with all the terms of the offer, I would appreciate the expeditious delivery of my free title. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

<hr>
Obviously, you should send the letter and materials to whatever address they directed you to in the letter included with the returned submission.

What's the reason for rejection?

It's all good. Die Hard SHOULD count.

Call this number:

1-877-369-7867 and speak with Tenisha Reynolds.

She was very helpful and told me to just re-send the stuff directly to her. I no longer have the address she gave me (it's different than the one the letter gave) but try calling.

Here's the reason:

Your request did not include the correct proof(s) of purchases required for this promotion. Please check the offer requirements for the necessary proof(s) of purchase.

I only see one proof of purchase on the DH dvds. ....am I missing something or is this just another Fox mistake?

Thanks

Not sure exactly why they rejected your request. Those letters are canned anyway. It sounds like they are rejecting based on your PoPs not the receipt(s). Possible explanations are:

- The CSR is purely incompetent (very likely)
- The DH is not in their catalog that they use to determine eligible titles (happened before with the Titan A.E. and X-Men)
- They reckon DH boxset is counted one only
- The PoPs do not have Fox's catalog number on them

It all boils down to Gage's incompetancy. Never had a problem with other fulfillment houses.

I think it is the catalog numbers being absent from the POP's....

I sent back printouts form their website for all of my titles lets see if that helps.

My 'free' DVD's are getting expensive.

I tried calling this # yesterday and can't get nothing......

All I get is: Please enter your pin #.

I just tried some 4 digit #'s and got "incorrect pin"

eventually it said: goodbye!

Whoops! I just checked the number I typed and I posted it wrong (I interspersed the US & Canadian numbers accidentally.)

Sorry about that!

The correct number is 1-877-369-7867. I also corrected my original post.

The Canadian # is 1-800-613-2658.

I called and got through. The csr's were VERY helpful and gave me there address out in CA to send the info that was sent back. Everything now seems good and I'll be sending it back out tommorrow.

If interested in the address let me know and I'll post it here.

I was rejected once for a Fox Buy 4, Get 1 Free, and twice for a Disney DVD $5 rebate. In all instances, they sent back all my original materials (including check), with a letter explaining why it was rejected (albeit incorrectly), and where to send my "corrected" submission.

I sent back all the materials, along with a letter similar to what I posted above, and within about a month of resubmission, received my proper due.

Could someone help me out with this? Mine was rejected as well, and the problem is I don't have the original booklet with the terms for submission. For whatever reason they rejected Titan A.E. and Point Break DTS. If someone could confirm that these two are valid submissions (I expect they are), I would be very grateful.

Thanks.

Titan A.E. is a valid submission. I got it rejected too from the previous promotion. I re-submitted the whole package intact along with a note and a copy of the cover showing the title being a Fox title. Got my DVD within a month or so.

I think they rejected Titan A.E. because it doesn't have a catalog # on the PoP, and in the previous promotion it was a new release which wasn't in the catalog that Gage Marketing used to determine eligible titles.

I assume that Star Wars: TPM would be a valid submission? Here's hoping...

Anyone mailed in more than 10 weeks ago and still hasn't received free DVD yet (not even a rejection letter)?

Mine sent in first week of Sept and still no freebie/letter. My check is not cashed yet.

Any advice?

Just "stay" patient...

This is my second 20th Century Fox offer. I too sent my stuff in September. However I know that shipment with these guys is suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuper sssssssssssssssssssslow. Last time it took forever (frankly I had given up already by the time I got the cashed cheque back - then it still took another month for anything to show up. My advice - stay patient, wait for the cashed cheque. Then wait some more. It should show up some time after that.

For Fox deal, I sent mine three months ago and still hasn't received free DVD.
My check isn't cashed yet either.
Getting kind of impatient.

I have problem with free Disney DVD deal too.
They cashed check five weeks ago, but DVD isn't here yet.

This is really getting on my nerve.

I got the rejection letter from FOX today.
I can't believe this is happening to me.

This is what they say,

You submitted only 3 proof of purchase tabs. (total required is 4)

What the hell are they talking about?
Do they think I am a moron who can't even count number 4?
Or are they all completely blind?

I sent PoP tab from Die Hard, Cleopatra, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Fight Club.
What is not eligible?

I think it's because tab from Die Hard is missing catalog number.
But the print says 'proof of purchase' and the one who made it this way is FOX, not me. Now they say I did wrong?
If it's not the proof of purchase, where is it then?
It's 'Die Hard' where I found the Buy4,Get1 coupon in the first place. They even put the sticker about this deal on the package. Didn't they?

They says I need to re-submit and wait another 8-10 weeks for processing.
Do they expect me to cut out another tab and spend my dollar to buy postage and envelop, because they screwed up?

And if the submission is incomplete as they claim, why does it has to take this long for them to write this crappy letter?
It's been three months.
They have been sitting on it for three months for what?
They didn't even send any of my orignal stuff back.

I am really mad.
I will call 1-800-613-2658 and fight this over.
I hope this number works.

Too angry to type further.....

Fox is really bad about accepting POPs. I remember last time they had an offer, I used X-Men as one of the titles and they wouldn't accept because the POP didn't a catalog number on it. I don't know who these people are that think you will forge a receipt and a POP just to get a free movie.
