Review wanted: 48 Hours

How is this one? ....I believe this is when Eddie Murphy was at the top of his career.

How is the quality? .....worth owning?

Thanks

Review Of 48. Hrs.

Movie9/10)

The original and one of the best action comedies was eddie murphys debut into film. It's about a convict who stages a prison break with his partner and later kills a cop while Jack Cates watches. Jack is a rogue cop that's stubborn as hell, and when he see's the cop killed, he go's on the case of catching the two cop killers. He inlists the help of another partner of the bad guys, played by Eddie murphy, giving him a 48. Hr pass from jail.

With some funny parts and action, also decent performances by Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy, this makes for a great cops and robbers movie and one of director walter hills best(along with Southern Comfort, Extreme Prejudice and Tresspass). Definatly a must see for Cop movie fans.

Picture(7.5/10):

I don't think that its anamorphic but its quite good for a 18 year old movie.

Sound(7/10):

Is also pretty good compared to the VHS

Extras(5/10):

Just the trailer, but its good.

Overall7/10)

The only reason i could see buying this is if you like the movie, which in case you should rent it if you havent seen it. good action movie.

I like the movie a lot, however...

The picture on the DVD is very poor... sound is good, but the DVD picture quality is really poor.

Maybe this is the best they could to with it and I have not compared it to the VHS so maybe it never looked that great to begin with, but I have seen a lot older movies look better.

I found the picture to be a bit soft, and the colors to be washed out. Lots of grain also...
