made an exploratory trip to local K mart (dvd bargain hunting)...

...and now i know why walmart is number 1. what a dump the local "Big K Mart" is. it is in an urban area with a moderate crime rate, so the store is falling apart. i went over to the "electronics" section and found a wall of vhs tapes, but no dvd's in sight. with no clerks anywhere to be found i continued my search for dvd's. after walking up and down the isles i found about 6 dvd's on the shelf with the vhs. (all $4.99 dvd's i had never heard of). i had read on here that someone's local k mart had dvd's and cardboard displays with great deals on them from certain studios. not at this k mart! i finally found their dvd "selection" which was comprised of a locked glass cabinet about 3 feet tall with probably 15-20 titles in it (2-3 copies of each title). not one deal and hardly anything i even wanted. what a waste. k mart is going to fold very soon.

It's true that most Kmarts lock up their DVDs behind the glass wall...no touchy feely for you!! However, at one Kmart I saw the DVDs displayed nice and out in the open, sorta like a Target store. I bought Akira from there that day.

The rest of the store was a dump though...

Ha, I guess the police sure did a "clean sweep" of that store! Get it? Sweep? Vacuum cleaner? Eh, never mind...

Gee, that sucks.

Why on earth would someone want to shoplift a vacuum cleaner?

Kmart is pretty much a dead chain... they are more expensive than Target and Wal-mart, they never have enough registers open, and when they do they're usually clogged up with people waiting for price checks because Kmart's computer system is so bad.
