Please do not reply to this email. This is an important
administrative notice and is being sent to all Cybergold
members regardless of subscription status.

They are dropping like flies. I may have used them a couple of times, but it seemed like a lot of fumbling around to save a buck or two. There are enough links here.
What did Cybergold have to lose? I don't think they had warehouses of inventory, but could be wrong.
edit, argh, really bad looking choppy paste, hope this will fix it.

I got the same email from them and immediately went and had my account balance transferred to my credit card. That was more than two weeks ago (8/3) and the transfer still hasn't been made. I'm not going to make a big stink about it - since my account balance was only around $12.00, trying to get them to pay up will probably be more trouble than it's worth. However, If they owed me a considerable amount of money I'd be pretty pissed.
Just out of curiosity, did anyone get a credit card transfer to work after receiving the "we are shutting down" email?

You must have clout. I'm a nobody.
They told you two weeks ago? Maybe they are staggering the announcement and people like myself, who probably don't have a dime in it, are being contacted at a later date.
These dotcoms must have expenses that dolts like myself just don't appreciate. Like TALK, it has a server or two, an occasional jam with a technician and an electric bill. How can it lose?

Also, I made a mistake earlier when I said that they hadn't transferred my account balance to my credit card. The transfer was made on the same day I requested it (8/2) - I just didn't notice it because the company wasn't listed as "Cybergold" but as "Magnacash, Inc".

Magnacrash sounds about right.
I've been all over 08/02 and found nothing. It's possible that I summarily deleted it to keep what looks like junk, to me, out of the files.
