Is anybody familiar with this DVD? Is the transfer any good? How's the sound? The information I've seen shows that it is in OAR. Is this correct? Is it a flipper? Any worthwhile extras?

By the way, for those who haven't seen this movie, it's a spectacular film (based on an even better play) about a husband and wife playing mind games with each other throughout the course of one drunken evening. A true classic.

the transfer is very good; deep, rich black and good contrast. the audio is ok, a bit harsh at times but the dialog is always understandable. and there's an interesting commentary w/ the cinematographer. if you're a fan of the movie, it's worth owning.

...difficult to believe that this was once considered a very shocking play...

However, the DVD is excellent, Liz and Richard -although both too young(°) for their parts- are on top form, the photography is very beautiful...

(°)...at one time Bette Davis and James Mason were mooted for these roles - they certainly would have made an interesting couple!...
