I received the disc yesterday and am in the middle of reviewing it. Tristar has provided a superb new 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen edition. There are a few problems (a couple of traces of pixelation and edge enhancement), but the postcard-perfect images are otherwise gorgeous.
The 5.1 audio is superb, as well. Ambient sounds are realistic and natural and Isham's score sounds stellar.
I haven't gotten to the extras yet, but a full review will be done this afternoon.

Yeah, I noticed a couple of dirty parts on the print but nothing that would distract from viewing and enjoying this movie.
There's 2 great documentaries that further explore Lishman's Operation Migration. The HBO doc is fluff though. I haven't listened to the commetary yet or the isolated score.
But man, this is a packed disc!!!
I believe 6 subtitle languages, 5.1 and 2.0 English, director commentary and isolated score plus commentary.
The Menus are animated with scenes when switching between menu's, like Crouching Tiger.
I waited so long for this re-release and it's definitly worth the wait.
