Hi, I just found a region hack for my Aiwa XD-DV370 and can make it region free. The question I have is can I start buying DVD'd from Amazon in Europe? Will the DVD's work or do I have to have a special TV to play them. Any info would be really appreciated.

Some help:
Do you know if your player converts NTSC to PAL and PAL to NTSC? European DVD's are likely to be PAL, and will not play on your US NTSC TV. Some DVD players do the conversion, others do not. There are devices you can buy at Radio Shack that will do the conversion, but sometimes Macrovision interferes with it.
Check out the Home Theater Hardware forum here for a lot of info along those lines.

Greekboy, you can still pick up dvd's from Japan and Hong Kong (which are NTSC)....There are some really good films released on dvd in Japan---all of David Lynch's filmography---but for 'Fire Walk With Me (if your a Lynch fan). Depending on what you are looking for you just may find it. The money I could spend importing dvd's from Japan---would distingrate my little plastic cards. Some places to look:
laserexchange.com
rpmrecords.com
sazuma.com
cdjapan.co.jp
amazon.co.jp
Good luck.
