Can anyone who owns any of these titles tell me if the English subtitles are non-removeable while listening to the English soundtrack or if they can in fact me turned off?

I ask because if these DVDs do not have forced subtitles I will upgrade to them from my R1s since they are all supposedly 16X9 enhanced whereas the R1s are not. Thanks in advance to anyone who may have the answer for any of these titles.

You're talking about Finnish DVDs and you mention Sleepy Hollow an POTA? They haven't been released here yet. I have, however, checked out Day Of The Dead and it doesn't have forced subs. Reservoir Dogs isn't out either but there has been talk of a R1 SE release, so I wouldn't waste my cash. The Warner discs generally don't have forced subs (I haven't come across one with them so far). I'm 80% sure the FTDT 2 disc set has forced subs.

In case you understand Finnish, check out http://www.egmont-entertainment.fi (or .com). They generally list if their releases have forced subs or not.

I got them off off the Filmfrikki website. I did not realize that some of those weren't actually from Finland.

Unfortunately, I do not understand Finnish at all. That's why I made this thread hoping that those who do could help me out.
