I have been selling on Half.com for awhile and recently signed up for their "direct deposit" feature for payment. I thought it would be a great way to avoid a trip to the bank to cash a check.

They have tried to deposit my last payment twice and both times I have received a "Payment Failed" email alerting me there was an invalid account number and to update my info at their site. Both times I have double-checked my info and it is correct at their site. I have called my bank and they have no record of an attempted transaction.

I am concerned because the bank's routing number is nine digits but each time Half has emailed me me about the payment failure they only show spaces for 8 digits in the routing number. Could they be dropping a digit and that's why it's not working?

Has anyone used Direct Deposit with them and had it work? Do they have a phone number so I could reach a person? I hate having to send an email and wait to hear back (if ever.)

Works fine for me.. been using it since it started at the end of January.

Their CS is reliable, if slow. I usually receive an email back within 2 days.

If I were you, I'd reenter the account information on the Half.com web site. It sounds like there might be a leading/trailing space in the number.

I haven't had any problems with direct deposits appearing in my account.

No problem here - all direct deposits were processed without problem. (and I checked - my routing number is 9 digits, so that may be the problem)

I've encountered a few banks that have a specific ABA number for consumer accounts and a different one for business accounts. Yet, all their checks list a THIRD aba number. Only asking a branch manager or someone in a central customer service center revealed the true number necessary.
