Well, I finally acquired the movie Bill and Ted's Excellent
Adventure on DVD. I ordered the region 2 Dutch version
because I can play R2 PAL DVDs even though I am in the U.S.
BTW, the transfer for this film is very good IMO
Anyway, whenever I buy a DVD that is NOT available in REGION 1, I usually order 2-3 copies. I usually sell these
on ebay as a way to defray the initial cost of buying these
DVDs and paying higher shipping. My "clients" are usually
other Americans who probably feel better about buying
from a local than from ordering from someone overseas.
That said, I received three copies of B&T DVD for around
$52 shipped U.S. You can imagine my suprise when I put
ONE of the DVDs on ebay. I always begin my auctions at a bid of 0.01 so when it closed at $51 I was very pleased and surprised.
However, I couldn't believe it when my buyer contacted me and gave me his shipping address....LONDON, ENGLAND.
This DVD is already available in Holland and Germany and will be in England in July. My question is to all those who live in an R2 country. Do you pay attention to DVDs which are released in other R2 countries besides your own?
I am surprised because this person seems to be a big fan of Keanu Reeves and I would think that they would already be touting this upcoming release in England.
I guess the real reason I wrote this message is because I find it odd that I, after importing an R2 PAL DVD into the U.S, I will be shipping it back to Europe where it came from. Luckily, I don't have to ask him to verify whether he is capable of playing R2 PAL DVDs!

Wow, great profit! That is weird that he apparently wasn't aware of its upcoming UK release. I'm in the U.S. but I can tell you that I check the websites from numerous countries before I place an order for anything outside of region one. A lot of titles that'll cost me around $26 from the UK will have similar versions in Australia for only $19. It's well worth it to investigate region 2 titles in particular being that several European countries have their own version of the DVDs. Anyway, have fun spending that money!
BTW, is B&TEA 16X9? If so, I may just pick that one up myself.

Yes, it is 16:9 anamorphically enhanced for widescreen TVs!!
Though, I don't have a Widescreen TV yet.
http://www.proxis.nl was where I got mine.
Though, the German release is identical to the Dutch so I'm
guessing German websites may also have it.
