I have a friend who's going to be in Paris next week and has offered to snag me a few French dvds to play on my new Region 2 capable player. I'm most interested in the dvds of two old French films, FANTOMAS and EL DORADO, but the online prices seem to go from moderately low to very, very high. Anyone know of any places to get dvds in Paris that might be somewhat cheaper than FNAC or Virgin? I'm hoping that's not as good as it gets.

...ahh... ummm... both Louis Feuillade's Fantomas and Marcel L'Herbier's
El Dorado are from the silent movie era: 1913 and 1921, respectively... French intertitles only... numbered, limited editions... two of the most beautifully produced DVD releases in my 'collection'...
