Netflix and Amazon Prime starting in Japan this month
 

I wonder if this could be a really good thing for us in NA? Maybe we could see animes that never got licensed for dvd release. This is kinda how Crunchyroll works. I see so much potential.

I also wonder if this is going to gut the prices of dvds in Japan. The cost of Netflix and Amazon Prime in Japan seems really cheap.

I checked out Netflix Japan when it started a couple weeks ago, looks like there is lots of anime on there and some Japanese movies that I will be checking out. Unfortunately Amazon Prime doesn't give you international access like Netflix does, but I did notice that it's quite a bit cheaper than US Prime costs.

Are you sure you can watch stuff meant for Japan or do they have English Subs? I don't have Netflix.

He probably uses a service in which he can switch Netflix regions like I do.

I checked Netflix Japan. They do have a fair amount of Anime, Japanese movies and TV shows with some Korean and Chinese ones mixed in but they are useless to us here in North America since is only in Japanese language with no English subs. The one thing they have and something that I wanted to always check it out is the Kamen Rider TV shows but with no English subs, I don't know if it's worth it for me.

Hmm... do they have all the Kamen Rider shows, or just the most recent?

I'm kinda surprised Netflix doesn't region-lock by username as well as location.

Ah, the movies (and all a few years old), I guess that makes sense.

I was hoping Crunchyroll would get some Kamen Rider/Super Sentai, since they added a few Ultraman series a while ago.
