2015 Spring Simulcasts

I'm really looking forward to this upcoming season. Lots of great shows are returning. And some popular manga are getting an anime adaptation.

Here's a list of all the upcoming shows: https://livechart.me/spring

These are at the top of my list:

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU: Season 2 - The first season was on my Top 10 list for 2013. I watched it again a few months ago, and liked it even more. So I'm really looking forward to this show.

Fate/Stay Night: Season 2 - Season One was awesome. I can't wait to see how they finish this.

Nisekoi: Season 2 - The ultimate "best girl" series is back. I wasn't crazy about the first couple episodes of Season One. But it got better week after week. Season 2 should be a lot of fun.

Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches - The manga has been great. I don't know how they're going to adapt it with only 12 episodes. Hopefully they don't screw it up.

I Can't Understand What My Husband is Saying: Season 2 - Another season of hilarious 3-minute shorts.

Kinmoza: Season 2 - The first season was lighthearted and really fun.

Sound! Euphonium - I usually like KyoAni stuff. Hopefully this is more like K-on and less like Tamako Market.

Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? - The manga's been pretty good.

Denpa Kyoushi - I like the manga, but I'm not sure it'll make a good anime.

I don't know much about these, but I plan to check them out:

The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan
Plastic Memories
Shokugeki no Souma
Re-Kan!

I'm definitely up for the two Grisaia series and the second season of Knights of Sidonia (and if Netflix is picking it up...better subtitles this time around, please). I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying was hit or miss for me, but it's not much of an investment either way, so I'll watch it.

I haven't seen the first seasons of anything else that is getting a second season...yet.

Plastic Memories does look interesting, as does Kekkai Sensen.

The second season of Knights of Sidonia is confirmed for Netflix.

Crunchyroll and Hulu will be getting Nisekoi, Plastic Memories, and Gunslinger Stratos.

I feel so out of the loop, I haven't had Crunchyroll for over three months. Trying to catch up with all the anime I own.

First Episode Impressions:

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Too got off to a great start. I'm so glad it's back for another season. I love this show and look forward to it every week.

DanMachi came out really strong too. This is going to be a fun show.

Re-Kan! didn't blow me away. But I busted out laughing at least 4-5 times. I didn't expect it to be that funny. I'll probably keep watching for a while.

Gunslinger Stratos is not really my kind of show, and I have no idea what's going on. I doubt I'll watch any more.

Plastic Memories was obviously going to be a bittersweet series. But I didn't expect it to be so heartbreaking. This will probably end up being one of the best shows of the season.

Food Wars! - Food Porn! It wasn't bad, but I wasn't crazy about it either. Kinda interesting, so I'll probably keep watching.

I'm not sure what to make of this one after the first episode. The attempts at lightening the mood didn't work for me at all (and do androids really have to use the restroom in the first place, let alone have trouble holding it?), and I didn't find it particularly heartbreaking, either (but keep in mind that I just finished Your Lie in April). It's an interesting concept, but I hope the "voice"/tone of the show improves in the upcoming episodes.

I was mistaken The IDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls second season does not start until July.

DanMachi has been a great show. Reminds me a lot of SAO's first arc.

This week's episode was excellent. I watched it again right after it ended.

If you're not watching this show, you should check it out.

That's the one show I've been watching, though I fell an episode behind.

While I dislike the whole "the main character just happens to be insanely strong and able to solo everything in a team game" thing (which was also a problem in SAO), there are enough subplots out there that I'm satisfied. And with that title, I guess I can't complain that much about the fan service or harem elements, which are far less of a focus than the title would indicate.

I'm keeping up on it as well, although the dependency on video game rules (earning experience points to gain access to higher dungeon levels, etc.) annoy me a bit. It's certainly the most fun out of all the new shows I'm watching.
