I haven't watched it yet, but the manga is pretty old at this point (started in the early 90s).

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

I am about to watch the anime film A Silent Voice that I got today.

Edit: All I can think to say after watching is, The way Shoko is treated the entire movie is unthinkable. Also why the hell do they keep hanging out with Naoka?

Good film. If you get a chance I'd also recommend checking out Maquia.

I loved the movie. They managed to fit in the whole story. But if you get a chance, read the manga. It's amazing. It gives the characters much more depth than a 2 hour movie.

It was available on Crunchyroll Manga. But I don't see it there now. Amazon has the box set for $42.

thats cheap, I ordered it with free next day delivery.

Edit: I read the first manga your right about more depth of the story, It does a better job of getting the views of Shoko classmates and how they really feel about her.

I was mildly disappointed how Scum's Wish ended. The last couple of episodes wrap everything up in a fairly abrupt manner. It's a very watchable series with interesting characters that have real depth despite the ending.

I just finished up My Roommate is a Cat which was fantastic. I also watched the first episodes of Fruits Basket (the remake I've never seen the original) and The Promised Neverland which were both very good and I'll definitely continue with.

I watched the first episode and really enjoyed it. I'd never seen the original, so I found it on Hulu and watched the first episode to compare. I was surprised that the new version is almost a shot for shot remake. There a few small changes, but aside from updated artwork, it's almost identical.

It's based on the manga, so that's understandable.

Just started watching this yesterday, and I'm about halfway through. It's a really great show. I'm surprised, I was expecting it to be a goofy comedy. But it's a heartwarming slice-of-life story.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

What is with all the animes this season with each episode being less then 15 minutes long? is this what all anime will be like soon? over ten years ago few animes were less then 24 episodes long. It seems to get worse and worse, if its not the length of the episode or just the episode count its the animation quality, I couldn't even watch the second season of Bang Dream and I have been playing the game for a year.

I am watching two shows this season both are under 12 minute long episodes

Ao-chan Can't Study!
Why the Hell are You Here, Teacher!?

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

I know that corporate television research has discovered that few children under 10 in this current generation stay engaged for longer than 10-15 minutes. The numbers keep shrinking every year. You can see it happening on Cartoon Network before your very eyes. Many of their shows are now 2 ten-minute episodes fit into a 30-minute block.

How many shows are under 15 minutes this season? I'm only watching two. Isekai Quartet and Amazing Stranger.

Short shows (15 mins & 5 mins) have been around for a while. There's usually at least 3-4 each season. Here's a few of my favorites off the top of my head.

Encouragement To Climb
Tonari no Seki-kun
I Can't Understand What My Husband Is Saying
Wakaba Girl
Miss Monochrome
Onee-chan ga Kita
Aho Girl
Space Patrol Luluco
Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories
Aiura

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

I just watched the film Haikara-san: Here Comes Miss Modern Part 1, it is good. I didn't even know Nozomi entertainment was involved in the release until I watched it, I am confused did they license it? I only bought it because it said the publisher was Eleven Arts.

Haikara-San Here Comes Miss Modern Part 1 Blu-Ray + GWP

Anyone going to see Okko's Inn at the theaters tonight or tomorrow? I just bought my ticket.

Edit: I just got home from the theater, I would give Okko's Inn 5 star rating. That was a very cute film. Caution: You would need a box of tissue handy.

Eleven Arts has the home video license. Right Stuf handles the home video distribution. No updates on when Part 2 will be released on home video.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

Here in Canada, Tubi has the rights for S2 of One Punch Man. I watched the first season on Netflix Canada.

I never used this service before but I'm finding that they have a decent selection of Anime and even though it has commercials, it's free. The amount of commercials is not excessive as they have one (roughly 2 minute in length) for every 30 minute episode.

They have Lupin III Part 2 in the original language as Crunchyroll has the dubbed version only. They also have Cowboy Bebop (subtitled) too.

This is a decent service for no cost.

Netflix just added Baki part 2 this month. I'm still not finding it compelling but I already invested time in it so I'll be finishing it up.

Having been a huge fan of Sword Art Online's first season, I was greatly disappointed by the follow-up second season. But I've been catching up on Sword Art Online: Alicization via Cartoon Network and it's a huge return to form.

Depending on what you were disappointed in the second season, Alicization might hurt your soul when you come to a certain part.
