Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

I just finished watching Napping Princess that I bought at Walmart tonight. I enjoyed watching it.
I can't wait for Gkids Mary and The Witch's Flower to come out.

I started watching The Ancient Magus’ Bride I am up to episode 5 and this anime is keeping me interested in watching the next episode.

Just finished Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress. Not bad overall, beautiful animation.

I watched the first six episodes of Infini-T Force this weekend. It's a mult-universal team-up of four old school heroes, Gatchaman, Casshan, Hurricane Polymar and Tekkaman. The only one I'd never heard of was Hurricane Polymar. If you liked RE:Creators (they share many of the same conceits) you'll probably like Infini-T Force, especially if you've got a fondness for any of the heroes. It's streaming from Viz.

It definitely got more serious, but Made in Abyss just did not work for me on the whole. The Seeker Camp episodes dragged, the "bad guy" setup towards the end felt tacked on (like they needed someone, rather than something, to root against next season), and aside from one "Holy shit!" moment, I never felt like the main characters were in much danger.

Sword Oratoria: Is it Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? On the Side was pretty much what I expected after watching the first series. I didn't care for Lefiya one bit.

The Sword Oratoria anime was garbage. The storytelling and pacing was awful. They tried to cram 3-4 long chapters (50+ pages each) into each episode.

It's a shame, because the manga's really good. They cut out everything that made you care about the characters. All the backstories and character development were removed. There are some epic battles with brutal consequences. In the anime, those were jammed into half an episode with a happy outcome tacked on.

Dare I ask how many pages were devoted to boob exercises and comparisons?

I could not get into this one, either. The lead character is insufferable. I bailed after the third or fourth episode.

I'll get back to trying out new stuff eventually, but in the meantime, I'm revisiting stuff I know I like, including Cowboy Bebop, Samurai Champloo, and Everything Becomes F: The Perfect Insider.

Crunchyroll and Hulu are simulcasting the new Sword Art Online Alternative "Gun Gale Online", which launched this week. The first episode is pretty lackluster and doesn't set up a particularly compelling storyline, but I'm sure I'll stick with it.

I’ve been enjoying Record of Grancrest War on Hulu. Anyone else watching it?

I've been watching it from Crunchyroll. I've enjoyed it, but the pacing is like stuck on breakneck speed. Needs to slow down and breathe a little. Feels like the focus and development has been all over the place but mostly ignored Theo who is supposed to MC.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

Just watched the Studio Ghibli film "Ocean Waves". It was alright but not much of a story, I thought it was odd that it only got an English sub release. Now I'm going to watch "Mary and the Witch's Flower"

If you're looking for a good comedy show this season, check out Hinamatsuri. It's so absurdly hilarious. One of the best comedy shows I've seen in a while.

The humor and style reminds me a lot of Good Luck Girl.

I'm enjoying this season much more than the sports festival arc of last season.

Sword Art Online Alternative "Gun Gale Online" is still not great, and the motivations behind most of the characters are pretty stupid even by anime standards.

Speaking of SAO, Hulu recently added both the subtitled and dubbed versions of the Ordinal Scale movie, which is worth watching if you enjoyed the first two series, even if does get a bit overindulgent towards the end.

Anyone else totally in love with Aggretsuko?

Sanrio does their version of The Office and it's just awesome. Netflix has it subbed and dubbed, it's a pretty quick watch at 10 episodes.

I am going to watch 4 animes this season, I can't remember if there ever was a time I watched four in one season.

I had no interest in watching the third season.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

My wife and daughter surprised me with a year Premium subscription to Crunchyroll.

I just finished watching Another. I really liked it. I wasn't expecting it but it was creepy, suspenseful and somewhat gory.

I'll be trying more series that I'm not familiar in August...

Just finished watching Street Fighter: The Animated Movie on Crunchyroll with subtitles and was wondering why they had the names of Bison and Vega messed up? They kept calling Bison, Vega and Vega, Balrog. All of the other characters names were correct.

Nevermind. I found out that Vega is the Japanese name for Bison, Balrog for Vega and M. Bison for Balrog. Capcom changed it when it came to the US supposedly because M. Bison sounded too similar to Mike Tyson.

Supposedly? It's obvious they called him that in Japan on purpose.

At the moment, I'm working my way through Transformers: Headmasters. Thinking of others I can watch concurrently as well. I recently finished the episode 'Rebellion On Planet Beast'.

It's one of the better horror anime.

I'm currently watching Grimoire of Zero. It has interesting world building, set in a world with witches and half-animal creatures known as beastfallen. The first few episodes have been entertaining.
