I’m Haruhi Suzumiya, from East Junior High. First off, I’m not interested in ordinary people. But, if any of you are aliens, time-travelers, or espers, please come see me. That is all!

Probably my favorite line of anime dialogue ever.

Watch the first Endless 8 episode and the last Endless 8 episode. Sane people should skip the rest of the Endless 8 episodes unless they like wasting time. I say this as someone that loves the series. You have to mentally edit those episodes out of the series.

I've been watching In Search of the Lost Future. Kind of a confused story about a high school group, though it's decent enough if you enjoy mysterious slice-of-life drama and humor.

"Classroom of the Elite" started out strong but soon settled into a nice rut of mediocrity. Currently in the middle of the 2nd season Blue Exorcist. Entertaining but nowhere near as good as season 1.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

I've been craving an anime marathon lately, so doing it today and tonight. I plan to watch various episodes of the series I own and some on Netflix, Amazon and Crunchyroll.

I'm watching Yamato 2199 since they're releasing it on Crunchyroll now. Ah nostalgia done right.

Juuni Taisen just caught up their deathcount to match their episode count after sparing contestants for a couple of episodes. So far the kill order is highly predictable, so I hope that changes.

Oh, and this isn't anime, but also this:

King's game started off interesting but the protagonist is unbearably whiny. All he does is cry.

Finally completed Clannad!! Yup, you guys were right...'twas very emotional but the bones eps at the end were very light-hearted and the recap ep answered a lot of my questions.

Onto what many are calling the greatest sports anime of all time....

How is it? I am tempted to pick it up if I can find it cheap.

I'm five episodes in and am liking it quite a bit. It's English dub (UK I think) only (wish they would have included the French soundtrack). I've read a chunk of the original French bd's and they've taken liberties with the story, but so did the movie.

Waiting for a Sentai sale at rightstuf or used on amazon look to be your best options for "cheap". It is, however, streaming on crunchyroll, if you want a taste. Search using Valerian. It's the same dub as the dvds.

I just binge-watched Made In Abyss. That was an amazing show. I can see why it's topping all the Anime Of The Year lists. It would probably be #1 on my list too. I can't wait for season two.

We watched the first two episodes of Ronja, the Robber’s Daughter on Amazon (dubbed) and it was kinda erratic in pacing and story progression. Is it worth continuing?

I still need to get to this. It recently became free to watch on Amazon Prime (along with all of the other Anime Strike shows that previously required an additional $5/month subscription).

I am watching Rosario + Vampire on blu-ray. There is a very noticeable difference in resolution from the original dvd release, If your a fan of the series I recommend watching it on blu-ray.

I'll stick with it, but...the first episode of Made In Abyss did not grab me whatsoever, and I don't particularly care for the character design, either.

Yeah, the character design is offputting, especially compared to the horror in the abyss, and even though they minimized it for the anime, the original manga's focus on punishing children by tying them up naked is... troubling. But you need to give it at least two or three more eps for sure.

Everyone with Amazon prime should also watch Land of the Lustruous.

Just finished Devilman Crybaby. Very violent, lots of sex, and lots of style. Didn't see the ending coming.

Probably try Made in Abyss next.

As the show progresses, it becomes very different from the first couple episodes. The lighthearted comedy goes away, and things get much more serious.

Wrapped up Devilman: Crybaby today and it was fucking awesome. Loved it. I watched dit in Japanese with English subs, because the English dubbed version is horrid.

Now I'm watching Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters. The animation is phenomenal on this one.

I've been meaning to catch it on Blu-ray. Love the show and would have liked to have seen another season.

Wow, Your Name. is fantastic stuff. Stunning animation but the story is very moving. I can see why it's the highest-grossing anime movie of all time. It deserves all the accolades and acclaim.

Re: What anime have you watched or/are currently watching?

It's not quite as magical as Your Name., but Napping Princess is a fun movie about a dreaming fantasyland creeping into the real world of the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

I just noticed that Napping Princess is available at Hoopla. It's a free streaming service for participating public libraries, and there's a Roku app. They also have In This Corner Of The World.
