I'm early into Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom on Hulu, and I was not at all surprised to discover that it's from the same director as Noir. Both have common themes of assassins and shadow organizations and take place on a global scale, but Phantom is missing the religious overtones (so far?).
I also watched Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun again to counter it with something a bit more uplifting.

That first season is very slick in a Hollywood kind of way about training child assassins.

Like many anime shows, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom starts out very strongly during its first season and meanders a bit during what appeared to be an unplanned second season.

The tv series is an alternate / expanded version of the 3 episode OVA series which came before it.

So I literally have no idea what you're rambling about.

Whaa? Phantom only has a single 26 season and it's all the same plot/story from start to end. So there was no 'unplanned' section.

I like the show, don't get me wrong.

Okay, the second half has a lot of padding. Like many anime programs that run more than 10-13 episodes, there wasn't enough plot for 26 episodes. The narrative lacks focus and gets repetitive before moving to the final end game.

I just started FLCL, which I think I'm going to hate.

I finally caught up on Chihayafuru (season 1 & 2) after it have been sitting in my queue for real long time. I'm wondering, are they going to make 3rd season?

I've been trying Space Dandy, due mostly to it's pedigree.
It's a little... out there, but it's fun enough.

I marathoned Terror in Resonance on Hulu over the course of a few days and really enjoyed it, although (as with most shows) some suspension of disbelief is required. You just have to accept that a couple of teenagers have the knowledge and ability to stockpile weapons, hideouts, etc.
I just started Michiko and Hatchin on Hulu, and the absurdity of it has been pretty entertaining so far.
That's probably next on my list, and is also available on Hulu.

Terror In Resonance was very interesting. Its only cringe-worthy part was the terrible Engrish spoken supposedly by a character that had been raised in America. Japanese dubs often seem to have poor English speakers.

Heh I watched it with the English dub so I didn't notice. =P

Finally getting around to watching Re:Zero, which I came in knowing nothing but the premise and was pleasantly surprised. On episode 18 right now, where hopefully the main character actually grows after being just brutally beaten down again and again and again.

Been watching Blue Exorcist getting ready so I can watch the second season that premiered this week. I was hoping to be done before the new season started but obviously didn't finish it in time.
Before this I watched KonoSuba, also to gear up to watch the new season streaming this season.

I have been watching the Detective Conan collection in Netflix and I must say that I have become a huge fan. I know that there's tons of episodes and movies. The episodes in the collection is not in chronological order and I tended to get lost when they referenced previous episodes. I'm wondering if most of the episodes has been released in North America?

I've been watching Rail Wars! It's a well-written show but I am almost positive it was funded by Japan's national railway company. The thing comes off at times as an infomercial for tourists.

Finished 91 Days and Overlord. Overlord was sort of meh but I enjoyed it. 91 days was good and a downer.
In the middle of God Eater and Mob Psycho. Both are pretty fun so far.

I've been enjoying World Break. Yes, it's a mild harem show but the twist here is that every character has relationships through prior reincarnations.
I am also a sucker for any show that relentlessly ranks characters by fighting ability. It's the one innovation someone needs to introduce into Western entertainment.

Seven Deadly Sins season 2 was a huge let down. Only 4 episodes and it was basically an extended conclusion to season 1.

I know... It bored me to death through it's only 4 episodes. I wonder where the series ended in manga, I'll start read there from on.
