Re: Madoka Magica
Damn that's expensive. At least they're releasing it on Blu Ray.

Re: Madoka Magica
Artbooks? Soundtracks? These are LE extras worth springing for.
I wonder how long they'll take to sell out. |

Aniplex Announces Blu-ray, DVD Releases For PUELLA MAGI MADOKA MAGICA Posted on: Monday, October 17, 2011 Aniplex of America announced Puella Magi Madoka Magica will be released in three parts, each with three format options: a special DVD/Blu-ray combo limited edition ($94.98 SRP), a standard Blu-ray edition ($49.98 SRP), and a standard DVD edition ($39.98 SRP). The limited editions will include series soundtrack CDs, exclusive collector's boxes, cases with double-sided covers, deluxe booklets featuring character designs and more, double sided posters, stickers, and collectible postcards, in addition to both Blu-ray and DVD discs. All versions will feature Japanese audio, English audio, and English subtitles. Volume 1 is scheduled for release February 14, 2012 (L.E. Blu-ray/DVD combo, Blu-ray, DVD), volume 2 for April 10, 2012 (L.E. Blu-ray/DVD combo, Blu-ray, DVD), and volume 3 for June 12, 2012 (L.E. Blu-ray/DVD combo, Blu-ray, DVD). All volumes and release editions are now available for pre-order. IMPORTANT! If you would like each volume to be shipped to you as it is released, place separate orders for each volume. (Otherwise, all three volumes will be held and sent to you when the final volume is released in June 2012.) |
Re: Madoka Magica
As seen from one's online order status (that had ordered the combo LEs):
In this case -- at the moment -- this is so we have the option to add a promotional postcard to your shipment, if one is produced. (Putting this in place as a gift with purchase, ensures no one gets missed.) |

Re: Madoka Magica
The dub sounds excellent.

Re: Madoka Magica
I pity any poor bastard who blind buys the series based upon that ad.

Re: Madoka Magica
Such an awesome series. I'd love to buy the blu-ray, but that price is insane. $150 (SRP) for a 12-episode series. Seriously? The "slump" thread should link here as Reason #1.

Re: Madoka Magica
I thought the dubbing was excellent. Makes me want the blu-ray even more. But I'm still not paying $120 for 12 episodes.

Re: Madoka Magica
I forgot Nico Nico does the onscreen comments. It's sorta like watching Rocky Horror, especially when everyone says the same thing in unison ("Infinite musket works!").
The dub's okay, but a bit cutesy, especially Madoka and Kyuubey, and I don't know what they're thinking with the new end theme (which was, hopefully only there because the first ep didn't have closing credits). |
Re: Madoka Magica
Crunchyroll just announced that they'll begin streaming the show on Feb 15th.
On Wednesday 2/15, we're going to deliver more of what you want with the acclaimed anime series: Puella Magi Madoka Magica!!! It will broadcast every Wednesday at 10 am PST for North American audiences only. http://www.crunchyroll.com/forumtopi...to-crunchyroll |

Re: Madoka Magica
Are the soundtracks included with the limited editions the same as the ones included with the Japanese Blu-Rays, and does this mean that none of them will have the opening and ending themes?
Furthermore, do they include English-language track listings for the soundtracks? |

Re: Madoka Magica
People who watched the TV release (which the most widely seeded fansubs are from) should be aware that changes were made for the home video release, and that those changes include MORE EXPLICIT FANSERVICE!
I mean, just look at the comparisons (spoilers, of course): Spoiler:
