SOS - Japan Earthquake 9.0

Source CNN
Donations have reached nearly $23 million so far, according to an early tally by the Chronicle of Philanthropy, a newspaper covering nonprofit organizations.

That number is far below the first four-day totals of other recent natural disasters. More than $150 million was raised toward relief within four days of the crisis in Haiti, according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy. In the case of Hurricane Katrina, donations exceeded $108 million during the crucial first four days.

For a second, I thought, "What? They're already making an anime based on the earthquake?!"

Re: SOS - Japan Earthquake 9.0

They already had an earthquake-based anime in 2009 called "Tokyo Magnitude 8.0" that was actually pretty good, although in the current context people may feel otherwise.

Yeah, I know. Don't know if the current situation improves or worsens it's chances of getting licensed.

I think the anime would sell very well if it was licensed. I think just the name of it would get people to want to see it.

Crunchyroll Seeking Help to Assist Earthquake Relief Effort in Japan

Crunchyroll to match individual user donations and looking for corporate partners

San Francisco, Calif. (March 11, 2011) – Crunchyroll, Inc., sends its deepest condolences and prayers to those affected by the earthquake and tsunami that struck the entire nation of Japan. Crunchyroll would like to help fund the emergency response and the long-term recovery efforts that will be needed to rebuild damaged communities. For every dollar donated, Crunchyroll will match donations. More information can be found on www.crunchyroll.com/helpjapan.

More details will be provided on the link above.
