The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

From the creaters of Clannad, Kanon, Air, K-on, and Lucky Star.

SOS Brigade: = "Spreading Excitement All Over the World with Haruhi Suzumiya Brigade"

Order Season 1 from RightStuf:
Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya DVD Complete Collection (Hyb) (Anime Legends)

Special Features: Textless Opening, Textless Ending, TV Broadcast Previews, Nekoman Galleries, Making of Haruhi Suzumiya Clips, The Adventures of the ASOS Brigade.
SYNOPSIS: I thought that when I entered high school, my days of believing in aliens, time travelers and ESPers were going to be over. That is, until she introduced herself. Claiming to be interested in only aliens, time travelers, and ESPers, Haruhi Suzumiya was the strangest girl I've met in a long time...

Before I knew what's going on, I've been dragged into her weird club, and it looks like I'm not the only one who has been drafted into this "SOS Brigade" of hers, because there are three other students who don't seem to be so ordinary themselves.

Either way, we've all found ourselves caught up in Haruhi's quest to search for all things extraordinary. And what's this I hear about us making a movie?

First Seasons Trailor:

SYNOPSIS: Haruhi continues her search for exciting ways to keep her world from being boring. Unfortunately, for Kyon and the rest of the SOS Brigade, they are forced to go along for the ride.

On the night of the Tanabata Star Festival, Kyon is transported back in time by Mikuru Asahina to what may be the source of what led Haruhi to search for aliens, time travelers, and espers. In the last two weeks of summer vacation, Haruhi leads the brigade on a dizzying list of summer time activities, eventually culminating in the brigade experiencing what they think is deja vu but they're actually re-living the same two weeks of summer over and over again. It's up to Kyon to figure out what's missing to get them out of their endless loop.

As fall rolls around, everyone prepares for the school arts festival, but Haruhi isn't content with their class's survey project. Instead, she hatches her own plan for the SOS Brigade to film and screen their own movie. Step behind the camera to see what went on to create the cinematic "masterpiece" that is The Adventures of Mikuru Asahina Episode 00!

The second season has 28 episodes. Its not really a second season becouse the 14 episodes from the first season are mixed in the 28 episodes.
Same animation studio, but I'd phrase it as "If you liked Lucky Star....", since there's really no similarity (outside of the studio) between TMoSH and Air/Kanon/Clannad.

New voice cast, seriously? ugh.

Also, if you are a TMoHS fan and know nothing about Season 2 then you may be a bit disappointed.

And 8 episodes are the same episode, so there are actually only 7 episodes in season 2.

If you want to be generous and count the small differences between those 8 episodes, you might be able to concider it 8.5 episodes in the season.

Hey, I liked them too but I can't discount the fact that it's a little disappointing that there's not that much content in season 2.

Re: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Second Season)

I'm going to buy this one for sure. I didn't dislike Endless Eight that much. I disliked Kyon's whining in Sigh to a far greater extent.

Same video but at a new angle, And NO technical problems at the end of the video.

Re: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya (Second Season)

so any news on why the new dub actors? I think it's one of the better dubs around. I mean Crispin Freeman basically makes the show great as does Wendee Lee.

Isn't Bang Zoom doing the dub again? What, did they decide to go cheap or something?

I couldn't get into this series. Mostly, because it really did not make much sense to me.

I just watched the movie, if you don't watch "Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody" episode 1 of the second season you would be so lost.
