HOUSTON, TX - September 29, 2011 - Broadcast and digital distributor Anime Network announced today that they will begin simulcasting the anime adaptation of the bestselling role-playing-game PERSONA 4 the Animation. From AIC A.S.T.A. (Bamboo Blade, Blood+), and renowned director Seiji Kishi (Angel Beats!, Kamisama Dolls), comes a story of a group of students, their ability to harness the powers of supernatural Shadows, and the grisly murders that connect their two worlds together. The voice cast from the original game have reprised their roles for the series.
Starting on Thursday, October 6th, the series will stream every week for free on Anime Network Online at 3 PM Eastern, the same day that it airs on TV in Japan. In addition, the episodes will be available to watch on free, ad-supported Hulu and the Hulu Plus subscription service within 24 hours. Distribution on additional services and platforms will follow in 2012.

FUNimation Introduces Elite Subscriptions
It was only a matter of time, and pretty much requested on a regular basis, but FUNimation is closer to introducing an Elite level service for those that want to watch anime on their portal. It may also portend a more serious effort into the world of simulcasts in that there’s money to be made on it, even meager scraps, for the Japanese studios similar to what Crunchyroll and The Anime Network do. No start date is set, but they do have some interesting things to offer, particularly in trying to draw the dub fans in early to get a look at some series. The pricing is pretty standard as well so there’s no surprises to be had here at the moment and we’ll be waiting to hear more on the HD quality side, which has long been the biggest issue people have had with their existing portal.

The Nikkei business news source reported on Sunday that Mobile Suit Gundam AGE, the newest television anime series in Sunrise's Gundam robot franchise, will stream in five languages. According to Nikkei, the anime will stream overseas with Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), Korean, and English subtitles at the same time it airs in Japan.
Nikkei added that Sunrise's Gundam.Info website will stream the anime for free for a month. The anime will premiere in Japan on Sunday at 5:00 p.m. (4:00 a.m. EDT)...

Update: We have added WAGNARIA!! SEASON 1 to the site!! Now you can catch up by watching Season 1 before the next simulcast episode of WAGNARIA!! SEASON 2. Currently Season 1 is only available for free and premium users in US and Canada... we are working to get more regions!

One of the most highly anticipated series of this season, Guilty Crown, will simulcast Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 12:30 pm Central Time. Fans will be able to view episode 1 on www.funimation.com and on Hulu. The companies are forming a joint effort where both companies will be contributing to the acquisition of new anime titles from Japan.
“Our goal is to simulcast top-notch anime. It’s an ambitious plan but one in which we are investing heavily,” said Gen Fukunaga, President and CEO of FUNimation Entertainment.
Part of that investment includes supporting niconico.com’s growth in the U.S. market and building toward the site becoming the leading online streaming source for subtitled anime in North America.
James Spahn, CEO of Nico Nico, Inc., stated, “By combining the strengths of our two companies, we have created an all-inclusive anime site for both the anime creators and consumers to enjoy new anime content with a great social experience.”

She’s the human form of the cursed black cube – and an instrument of torture! Utilizing her special abilities, Fear fights alongside Haruaki to defeat other cursed instruments and their owners.
The Future Diary
This psychological thriller, based on the manga written and illustrated by Esuno Sakae, is about Yuki, a loner who's not very good with people. He prefers to write a diary on his cell phone and talk to his imaginary friend, Deus Ex Machina – The God of Time and Space. However, Yuki soon learns that Deus is more than a figment of his imagination when he makes Yuki participate in a battle royale with eleven others. The contestants are given special diaries that can predict the future, each diary possessing unique features that give it both advantages and disadvantages. Within the next 90 days, the contestants must try to survive until there is only one left standing. The winner will become the new God of Time and Space.

In the near future, a meteorite carrying a foreign virus crashes in Japan, leading to a devastating nation-wide infection and total anarchy.
