Aniplex of America Announces English Dub for March comes in like a lion and Hosts Open Auditions with Bang Zoom! Entertainment at Anime Central 2017

SANTA MONICA, CA (May 19, 2017) – Attendees at Bang Zoom! Entertainment's panel were thrilled as Aniplex of America announced their plans to produce the English dub for the celebrated TV series March comes in like a lion at Anime Central in Rosemont, Illinois. The news was met with much fanfare as Bang Zoom! Entertainment partnered with Aniplex of America to bring the Open Auditions for the series to the Midwest for the first time.

This will be the fifth year Aniplex of America and Bang Zoom! Entertainment have teamed up to host the Open Auditions, where fans test out their skills as a voice actor for a once in a lifetime opportunity to be featured in an anime series. Participants receive a special pin for auditioning as well. Past winners of the Open Auditions have been involved on the English dub for shows including Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic, Magi: The Kingdom of Magic, ALDNOAH.ZERO, Asterisk War, and Your lie in April. While Bang Zoom! Entertainment's Open Audition at Anime Central was announced a month prior on the Anime Central Facebook page, the project for the auditions had been kept tightly under wraps.

March comes in like a lion is by Chica Umino, who is best known as the creator of Honey and Clover. The series is based on an award winning manga, which boasts an impressive list of prestigious accolades in Japan including the grand prize for the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize. Originally simulcast last fall, the anime series features a notable creative team from studio SHAFT led by Director Akiyuki Shimbou (BAKEMONOGATARI, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, KIZUMONOGATARI) and Character Designer Nobuhiro Sugiyama (NISEKOI, BAKEMONOGATARI, HANAMONOGATARI). Rounding out this all-star production team is the multi-talented and seasoned veteran, Wendee Lee (Cowboy BeBop, Blue Exorcist, Your lie in April) as the Voice Director for the English dub.

HoneyWorks' Romantic Musical Film will return with Part 2 on Crunchyroll

SANTA MONICA, CA (May 20, 2017) - Aniplex of America announced today at their industry panel at Anime Central in Rosemont, Illinois that they will begin streaming the animated film, The Moment You Fall in Love, exclusively through Crunchyroll (www.Crunchyroll.com) starting on June 6th.

This is the second installment of the two-part short film series, following I've Always Liked You, and was first released in Japan in December of last year. The films are based on videos and songs by the Vocaloid music unit, HoneyWorks. The group is popular among teenage girls in Japan as well as among males in the U.S., their videos attracting over 100 million views on Youtube, NicoNico and other platforms. In addition, sales for the five novels based on their songs have surpassed over 850,000 copies.

The Moment You Fall in Love is based on "Confess Your Love Committee -Romance Series-" songs by HoneyWorks, including "Ima suki ni naru" (lit. I'm falling in love now). The movie title is shared with an album by HoneyWorks released in July 2015 that has reached #4 on the Oricon Weekly Ranking.

Following I've Always Liked You, this story focuses on Hina Setoguchi (voiced by Momo Asakura). Hina finally decides to confess her love to Koyuki Ayase (voiced by Tsubasa Yonaga), who she had been drawn to since middle school and into high school. This series is often praised for its pleasing visuals and character designs. Just as the first film, The Moment You Fall in Love is directed by Tetsuya Yanagisawa (Fate/stay night), with Maki Fujii (I've Always Liked You) as the character designer.

SYNOPSIS

A professional dancer named Sengoku rescues Tatara, an introverted third-year middle school student who is being harassed by delinquents. Tatara ends up at Sengoku's dance studio where he meets Shizuku Hanaoka, a schoolmate he secretly idolizes. This is the defining moment when Tatara enters the world of dance. Sengoku is a free-spirited, dynamic international dancer who recognizes Tatara’s potential and be\gins to coach him. Through dance, Tatara meets another schoolmate, a dance prodigy named Kiyoharu. With these new friendships, Tatara develops a passionate desire to improve as a dancer and be accepted by his peers and rivals, which nurtures his own native talent. And through interaction with Tatara, other dance members are encouraged to take steps to overcome their own challenges and issues.

YOSHIMI ITAZU

Born in 1980, Yoshimi Itazu began his career in animation at 18. He worked with directors such as Satoshi Kon (Paprika) and Hayao Miyazaki (The Wind Rises). One of Japan’s up-and-coming artists, he made his debut as character designer and lead animator in a feature film in Keiichi Hara’s Annecy-winning Miss Hokusai (2015). That very same year saw his directorial debut with the Tohoku quake-themed short film, Pigtails that won 20 international awards. Welcome to the Ballroom, slated in Japan for July 2017, is his first TV series as a director.

TAKAHIRO CHIBA

Born in 1976, the animator graduated from the Animator course in Tokyo Animator College. He was the Chief Animation Director for Welcome to the Ballroom. His renowned works include Kamichu! (2005) as Character Design and Animation director; Occult Academy (2010) as Character Design, Chief Animation Director and Animation Director; Psycho-Pass series (2012) as Sub Character Design and Chief Animation Director; Haikyū!! series (2014- 2016) as Chief Animation Director.

TETSUYA KINOSHITA

Kinoshita joined Production I.G. in 2001, where he served as production manager for the animated sequence film Kill Bill: Volume 1 and for the animated television series Otogi Zoshi. Kinoshita then joined Pony Canyon Inc. in 2005, where he began his work as a producer for Shinreigari GHOST HOUND. His work Sengoku Basara was made into an animated feature film, becoming one of the most popular animated television series in Japan. Working as a producer for Musashi: The Dream of the Last Samurai (2009), which was created and written by Mamoru Oshii, led him to serve as a producer for the animated feature film 28 1/2 Mousou no kyojin directed by Oshii. Kinoshita has worked as a producer on many popular series including Attack on Titan, Yuki Yuna is a Hero, From the New World, THE ROLLING GIRLS, ETOTAMA, and more. His latest work Welcome to theBallroom will begin airing from July.

Sentai Filmworks Returns to Disboard in “No Game, No Life Zero”

HOUSTON, JUNE 13, 2017 – Fans can finally get a glimpse of the story behind the world of Disboard in No Game, No Life Zero, the prequel movie to the hit series No Game, No Life. This theatrical release, which premieres in Japan on July 15, 2017, follows the story of the sixth entry in creator Yuu Kamiya’s beloved light novel series.

Six thousand years before Sora and Shiro were even a blink in the history of Disboard, war consumed the land, tearing apart the heavens, destroying stars, and even threatening to wipe out the human race. Four Visionary Animation Artists Take on Vivaldi's Four Seasons - Kickstarter Crowdfunding Campaign to Launch July 25th

June 14, 2017 (Tokyo, Japan) – The Four Seasons Animation Concert Executive Committee announces that a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign will begin on July 25, 2017 to fund four original animation works inspired by Vivaldi's The Four Seasons. Veteran NHK producer Mitsuko Okamoto leads the project alongside Oscar-nominated animation director Koji Yamamura, who serves as the project supervisor.
Yamamura has tapped four celebrated animation artists to create original animated short films for Vivaldi's The Four Seasons concerti: Anna Budanova, "Spring"; Priit Pärn and Olga Pärn, "Summer"; Atsushi Wada, "Fall"; and Theodore Ushev, "Winter." The animation works will premiere on November 19, 2017 in a live performance at the Kitakyushu Hibiki Hall in Japan with Tokyo University of the Arts President Kazuki Sawa as lead violinist and conductor.
The Kickstarter campaign will complement the campaign on the Japanese crowdfunding site ReadyFor (https://readyfor.jp/projects/fourseasons), which aims to raise 5 million yen (approximately US$45,000) by June 30. The Kickstarter campaign pre-launch website (http://vivaldi.launchrock.com/ ) offers email registration for updates.
The project is spearheaded by faculty members at Tokyo University of the Arts, where Okamoto and Yamamura serve as professors in the Department of Animation. Ann Yamamoto of Pied Piper, Inc. is an assistant professor at the university and brings crowdfunding experience to the project. The Tokyo University of the Arts faculty members are donating their time toward the realization of this project, and the funds will be used to support the original animation productions by the four artists.

Sentai Filmworks Licenses 'Battle Girl High School'

HOUSTON, JUNE 26, 2017 - Sentai Filmworks launches into the fray of the Summer 2017 simulcast season with the ultimate fight fest: Battle Girl High School. The anime adaptation, based on colopl's action RPG, will start streaming in July 2017!

Set in 2045, humanity struggles to survive in a world overrun by mysterious invaders called the Irousu. The Earth's only hope lies with the students of Shinjugamine Girls' Academy, a school where Star Guardians train to fight the Irousu. Together, these brave girls work to develop their skills to fight against the invaders… provided they can pass class first!

Sentai Filmworks Takes the Plunge with 'MADE IN ABYSS'

HOUSTON, JUNE 26, 2017 - Sentai Filmworks is proud to announce the addition of the fantasy-adventure MADE IN ABYSS to its Summer 2017 season. The series will soon be available to stream in the U.S. on Anime Strike, the curated on-demand anime subscription from Amazon Channels.

The "Abyss" is the last unexplored region, an enormous and treacherous cave system filled with ancient relics and strange creatures. Only the bravest of adventurers can traverse its depths, earning them the nickname, "Cave Raiders." Within the depths of the Abyss, an orphaned girl named Rico stumbles upon a robot who looks like a young boy. Tantalized by the mysteries of the Abyss, Rico and her new friend descend into uncharted territory to unlock its mysteries, but what lies in wait for them in the darkness?

Animation Production will be handled by Kinema Citrus (Black Bullet, Barakamon, Is the Order a Rabbit??). Masayuki Kojima (Monster, Black Bullet) will direct the series, with series composition by Hideyuki Kurata (The Fruit of Grisaia, Drifters, The World God Only Knows).

Sentai Filmworks Licenses 'Vatican Miracle Examiner'

HOUSTON, JUNE 26, 2017 - Sentai Filmworks probes the mysteries of the holy city with its newest acquisition for the Summer 2017 season: Vatican Miracle Examiner. In the heart of Vatican City, there is a secret organization dedicated to investigating reports of miracles. Robert Nicholas, an archivist and cryptanalysis expert, and Josef Kou Hiraga, a genius scientist, are members of the Assembly of Saints. As miracle investigators, they travel the world validating particular phenomena, only to uncover events tainted with conspiracy and deceit. With orders to find out the truth behind God's works, Josef and the fiercely protective Robert venture out into the unknown.

Houston, June 27, 2017 - Sentai Filmworks delves into the world of subterfuge with its newest acquisition for the Summer 2017 anime season: Princess Principal. This original series by Studio 3Hz (Celestial Method, FLIP FLAPPERS) and Actas Inc. (Girls und Panzer) follows five students as they learn how to navigate their way around a gritty underworld. At the end of the 19th century, London, the Kingdom of Albion has been split into East and West sides by a giant wall. Five girls attend Queen?s Mayfaire, a conventional and prestigious school. HOUSTON, JUNE 27, 2017 - Sentai Filmworks will be adding the boy's love anime Hitorijime My Hero to its Summer 2017 lineup! The anime series, based on Memeko Arii's manga of the same name, will begin airing in July 2017 in Japan. High schooler Masahiro Setagawa is a fairly helpless delinquent, so much so that the neighborhood bullies use him to run their errands. His life changes when he meets high school teacher Kosuke Oshiba, a man whose fighting abilities have earned him a powerful reputation on the streets. Oshiba finds himself with a desire to protect Setagawa, and despite swearing that he's not interested in men, Setagawa finds himself getting more involved in Oshiba's affairs?

In order to increase birth rates, Japan implements a capability calculation that assigns partners to young people when they turn 16. Those who deviate from their assigned partners are severely punished. Yukari Nejima has been in love with Misaki Tazaki since grade school, and finally confesses to her on his 16th birthday, only to find out he has been assigned to Ririna Sanada. Originally not thrilled, Lilina agrees to allow Yukari and Misaki to continue their illicit relationship in hopes of learning more about love. Things get complicated when love and lies start to intersect.

The series will be helmed by director Seiki Takuno (Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches) and the studio LIDENFILMS.
