Aniplex of America has Acquired the Anime Series Kill La Kill

The Creators of “Gurren Lagann” reunite to bring a
Smashing Original Series this fall!

SANTA MONICA, CA (August 12, 2013) – Recently at their panel at the Otakon anime convention in Baltimore, Aniplex of America Inc. has announced their the acquisition of the new animation series Kill la Kill. The duo that brought us the fan favorite Gurren Lagann, Director Hiroyuki Imaishi and Script writer Kazuki Nakashima, team up once again to bring fans this brand new series. Kill la Kill will be streaming online starting this fall. In addition to their streaming plans, Aniplex of America is also planning on a home video release of Kill la Kill on disc. August 10, 2013 - Flower Mound, TX - FUNimation announced today during their industry panel at Otakon that they have acquired the rights to the remaining episodes of the Fairy Tail anime series currently in existence (up to episode 175.) In addition, FUNimation revealed the release date for Wolf Children. The movie will be available on Blu-ray/DVD Combo on November 12th, 2013.

During the Sunrise panel, which occurred prior to the FUNimation panel, it was announced that FUNimation has acquired the rights to the following titles:

• Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion
• Code Geass Lelouch of the Rebellion R2
• Code Geass Lelouch Akito the Exiled

During their industry panel, FUNimation added that they have also acquired the rights to the following Sunrise titles:

To conclude their panel, FUNimation played a video announcing they have acquired the rights to Cowboy Bebop. This will be the first time that the series will be available digitally and on Blu-ray in the U.S., FUNimation expects to release Cowboy Bebop in 2014.

Cinedigm and 4K Media Inc. Partner to Bring Yu-Gi-Oh!, One of the Most Successful Anime Series of All-Time, into the Home Entertainment Marketplace

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Cinedigm (NASDAQ: CIDM) and 4K Media Inc. have partnered to bring the worldwide franchise Yu-Gi-Oh! into the home entertainment marketplace for the first time in five years. Plans include a strategic rollout of all 600+ episodes of the popular series onto DVD and BluRay in the US and Canada, followed by distribution on digital and VOD platforms. This marks an ongoing resurgence of the brand in the past year including expanded TV distribution and a renewed licensing program.

Cinedigm and 4K Media officially launched the home entertainment program for Yu-Gi-Oh! during Comic-Con International: San Diego. The first DVD release, Yu-Gi-Oh! Classic Season 1 Boxset, will be available September 10, 2014.

The Yu-Gi-Oh! anime series originated from the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga series created by Kazuki Takahashi. The Japanese collectible trading card game, developed and distributed by Konami, has sold more than 25 billion cards. The game and television series, features a strategic play pattern that incorporates a combination of monsters, spells and traps to defeat opponents, and is acknowledged by Guinness World Records™ as the best-selling trading card game of all time.

A long-running success on TV throughout the world, Yu-Gi-Oh! has aired domestically and internationally in more than 90 countries over the past 12 years.

Disney Will Release Hayao Miyazaki’s “The Wind Rises”

UPDATED (2:35PM ET) Disney announced this afternoon that they will handle North American theatrical distribution for Studio Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki’s latest film, Kaze Tachinu (The Wind Rises). They released few other details, and indicated that an official release date will be announced at a later time.

Animation master's lastest film is about man who designed Japan's World War II fighter planes

Disney will release Japanese animation master Hayao Miyazaki's next movie, "The Wind Rises," in North America, the studio said Tuesday.

There is no opening date set for the film, which will be released under the Touchstone Pictures banner. It a fictionalized account of the life of Jiro Horikoshi, the man who designed Japanese fighter planes during World War II...

Ghost Stories complete series coming in 2014. It will include the hilarious English dub and original Japanese version with English subtitles!

Not Friday yet but I got the ok to announce it so happy to add Ultimate Girls to the list of new titles coming down. Tomorrow I will address questions like dubs and Robot Wars!

And YES it is our type of title given everything else we are announcing!
