SENTAI FILMWORKS LICENSES
“UTA NO PRINCE SAMA 2”

HOUSTON, April 23, 2013 — The music is back but the song is definitely not the same in Sentai Filmworks’ newest acquisition: Uta no Prince Sama 2. The new season of the smash hit features direction and series composition by Koh Yuh (Loveless, Angelic Layer) with character designs by Mitsue Mori and music by Elements Garden (Love, Election & Chocolate, Bodacious Space Pirates).

After the amazing high note that capped the first season, would it be fair to expect Haruka and her hunky harem of beautiful boy singers to be able to top themselves? Ah, but what if they had a little more help? Yes, believe it or not, now there are even MORE gorgeous guys ganging up for the attention of the song-mistress who’s available for even more music making now that she’s moved into the dorms. Only now StArish as some REAL competition, as the new golden throated warblers from the SENIOR MASTER COURSE make it their job to show the first six what it really takes to become a J-Pop star. And what about that mysterious seventh member of StArish? Yes, he’s back as well in his own catty fashion! But does he plan to take Haruka to fantasyland? Will the boys get kicked back to the street if they can’t stay in sync? And will Haruka stay composed and keep composing when the sophomore slump hits her writing? Find out if everyone can learn to live (and sing) in harmony as the hits keep on coming in UTA NO PRINCE SAMA 2!

Uta no Prince Sama 2 will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow later this year.

Just got the blessing to announce I will be returning as Gohan for the Buu Saga of Dragonball Z Kai. No release or broadcast dates for now. For those who overlooked Kai because of the edits on TV, remember its UNCUT on DVD/blu ray. Pretty psyched to return to the role that began my VO career. Recording in a few weeks.

SENTAI FILMWORKS LICENSES “THE GARDEN OF WORDS”

HOUSTON, April 24, 2013 — A chance encounter becomes so much more in Sentai Filmworks’ newest acquisition: The Garden of Words. From acclaimed filmmaker Makoto Shinkai (Children Who Chase Lost Voices, The Place Promised in Our Early Days), comes a new work of life, love and the spaces between. The Garden of Words is directed by Makoto Shinkai and features character designs by Kenichi Tsuchiya with music by KASHIWA Daisuke. When Takao, a young high school student who dreams of becoming a shoe designer, decides to skip school one day in favor of sketching in a rainy garden, he has no idea how much his life will change when he encounters Yukino. Older, but perhaps not as much wiser, she seems adrift in the world. Despite the difference in their ages, they strike up an unusual relationship that unexpectedly continues and evolves, without planning, with random meetings that always occur in the same garden on each rainy day. But the rainy season is coming to a close, and there are so many things still left unsaid and undone between them. Will there be time left for Takao to put his feelings into actions and words? Between the raindrops, between the calms in the storm, what will blossom in THE GARDEN OF WORDS? The Garden of Words will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release on bilingual BD & DVD to follow later this year.

“MY TEEN ROMANTIC COMEDY ~ SNAFU”

HOUSTON, April 25, 2013 — They say opposites attract, but putting them together may have catastrophic consequences in Sentai Filmworks’ newest acquisition: My Teen Romantic Comedy ~ SNAFU! This 12 episode romantic comedy gone wrong is directed by Ai Yoshimura and features character designs by Yuu Shindou with series composition by Shotaro Suga (Darker Than Black, Lagrange – The Flower of Rin-ne), sound direction by Satoshi Motoyama (Demon King Daimao, Dream Eater Merry) and music by monaca (A-Channel + smile).

So exactly what’s going to happen when Hachiman Hikigaya, an isolated high school student with no friends, no interest in making any and a belief that everyone else’s supposedly great high school experiences are either delusions or outright lies, is coerced by a well meaning faculty member into joining the one member “Services Club” run by Yukino Yukinoshita, who’s smart, attractive and generally considers everyone in her school to be her complete inferior? But wait, we haven’t added the third caustic ingredient yet! Meet Yui Yuigahama, who’s cute, bright, cheerful and apparently needs the service club’s help to bake cookies. Is this a recipe for romance or will the end product be poison gas or a nuclear meltdown? Will there be cookies, nookie or a reason for everyone to play hooky? Get ready for romantic comedy gone totally wrong as the barrage ŕ trois of the Service Club is unleashed on the unsuspecting student body in MY TEEN ROMANTIC COMEDY ~ SNAFU!

My Teen Romantic Comedy ~ SNAFU will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow later this year.

SENTAI FILMWORKS LICENSES
“THIS BOY CAUGHT A MERMAN”

HOUSTON, May 21, 2013 — Sentai Filmworks is proud to announce their newest acquisition: This Boy Caught a Merman! From rising star Soubi Yamamoto, creator of This Boy Can Fight Aliens, and the innovative CoMix Wave Films studios comes a tail of a different color. Sometimes finding the right person is like searching for a single drop in the entire ocean.

They say look before you leap and make sure you can swim before you go in the deep water, but when a picture of his late grandfather falls into the ocean, Shima jumps in after it without thinking. Nearly drowning as a result, he is instead saved by a very perfect stranger… one whose strangeness extends to only being human from the waist up! For Shima, who’s always felt like a fish out of water himself, it’s more than just a revelation, and the young man and merman quickly begin to bond in ways neither anticipated. And yet, it’s going to be far from easy sailing. After all, Shima and Isaki aren’t just from opposite sides of the tracks, they’re from entirely divergent species, and swimming in separate gene pools may make maintaining a long term relationship a whole different kettle of fish! Will they be like ships passing in the night, or will they be willing to take the ultimate plunge and answer the siren call? Things are going to get wet and wild as Shima and Isaki make a huge splash in THIS BOY CAUGHT A MERMAN!

This Boy Caught a Merman will be available soon through select digital outlets with a home video release to follow on bilingual DVD & BD later this year.

Funimation, Sentai in Talks Over Former Bandai Entertainment Titles
posted on 2013-05-25 18:13 EDT

Animation studio Sunrise producer Masayuki Ozaki revealed at his company's panel at Anime Boston on Saturday that the company is in talks to with Sentai Filmworks and Funimation to distribute former Bandai Entertainment titles. Ozaki noted that Sunrise will release some of its series through distributors such as these. Any possible deals are currently in the works, so further details are not yet available.

Sunrise would like to release titles with Sentai and Funimation as distributors, similar to the current deal in place for Mobile Suit Gundam UC through Right Stuf.
http://4NN.cx/121985
Ozaki then talked about Code Geass: Akito the Exiled, the Code Geass four-episode side story video anime series. Ozaki confirmed that the second episode will be released this summer in Japan. Ozaki said Sunrise was hoping to release the anime sooner, but the production has been delayed. Ozaki said Sunrise hopes to bring both Code Geass: Akito the Exiled and the original Geass series to America shortly.
Ozaki then talked about what would happen to old Bandai Entertainment titles. He said that Sunrise itself plans to release the titles, and is currently in talks with Sentai Filmworks and Funimation in deals to distribute them. Ozaki could not comment on any specific titles at this time, but he asked the audience what shows they would like to see re-released.
When asked if the recently-released Cowboy Bebop Blu-ray Disc box set would be released in America, Ozaki said he really wanted to make an announcement today about that, but Sunrise couldn't conclude the negotiations in time. But Ozaki added he hopes that in the near future he'll be able to make an announcement about it.

“DI GI CHARAT”

HOUSTON, June 25, 2013 — Get ready for cat girls, aliens and idol singers galore in Sentai Filmworks’ newest acquisition: Di Gi Charat! The original 16 episode TV series directed by Hiroaki Sakurai (Maid Sama!) features character designs by Koge Donbo (A Little Snow Fairy Sugar manga) and Yoshinobu Yamakawa, with music by Yusuke Sakamoto (Aquarian Age the Movie). Sentai Filmworks’ license also includes the Di Gi Charat Specials (14 episodes) and Di Gi Charat Winter Garden (2 episodes).

Dejiko is a perfectly normal princess from the planet Di Gi Charat, who arrives in Tokyo with dreams of becoming an idol. Unfortunately, girls with cat ears and a tail, and who can shoot ray beams out of their cat eyes, aren’t exactly what most prospective employers are looking for. But there’s one place where Dejiko does fit in perfectly: Akihabara, where a kindly game store owner offers a job to Dejiko, her sidekick Puchiko and their balloon-like protector Gema. But things still aren’t going to be simple, as Dejiko’s bunnysuit clad rival Rabi-en-Rose wants to become an idol too. And when the notorious Black Gema-Gema Gang, led by Princess Piyoko of the planet Analogue, lands in Tokyo, it will be all Dejiko can do to keep up with Piyoko’s nefarious plot of opening a rival game store across the street! (She’s kind of on a budget, since her parents spent all their money unsuccessfully trying to take over Di Gi Charat.) Can an interstellar cat princess really find happiness on Earth in the music industry? Find out in the DI GI CHARAT!

Di Gi Charat will be available soon through select digital outlets and on bilingual DVD later this year.

HOUSTON, June 27, 2013 — A man, a woman and an alien invasion – it’s going to be a hell of a honeymoon in Sentai Filmworks’ newest acquisition: Godannar! Five years ago, Goh, the pilot of the giant robot Dannar, rescued Anna Aoi as the monstrous Mimetic Beasts attempted to wipe human life from the planet. Now the Beasts are back, but Goh’s not going back into battle alone. Not only does his new bride-to-be Anna have a mech of her own, but their “his and her” giant robots are designed to mate together to form the ultimate in alien-smashing technology, the mighty Godannar! Unfortunately, while they may have the perfect partnership on the battlefield, things aren’t running so smoothly on the home front and when “the other woman” from Goh’s past suddenly returns, the rifts that are opened may be wide enough to put the entire defense of mankind in jeopardy! Can an international supporting cast of the wildest giant robot pilots ever hold the line until Goh and Anna can come together in the cockpit, join interlocking parts and create the perfect marriage of man, woman and machine? It’s time to love, honor and kick serious monster ass as family ties go nuclear in GODANNAR!

You've stretched us!!!!!
Update #2 · May 25, 2013

Once again, it is the fans who propel Time of EVE into new and unexpected places. You've decimated our initial goal, and have pulled us into Stretch Goal territory - a situation we didn't expect to see until the final days of the campaign, if at all.

We're scrambling to pull together our concrete plan for a long-held dream: an English dub.

But, it is the weekend, and Memorial Day weekend in the US. Everyone seems to be on holiday.

So, for now, we will just say: Stretch goal $50,000 for an English language dub!!!!

And, thank you!!! We'll shout it: THANK YOU!!!
