Sentai Acquires “Mushibugyo” Anime Series

HOUSTON, TX — December 16, 2021 — Sentai announced today that it acquired the action-packed Mushibugyo anime series. Sentai will distribute the series to audiences in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Netherlands, Scandinavia, Spain, Portugal, Central America and South America.

To combat monstrous, gigantic swarms delivering death and misery to a frightened population, Edo-period Shogun rulers assemble a cadre of superhuman warriors known as the Insect Magistrate Office. Among them, a young swordsman named Jinbee Tsukishima yearns to atone for past sins by taking his fallen father’s place in their ranks. But first he’ll have to prove his worth if he’s to join the fight to save humanity from the brutal onslaught.

Mushibugyo is directed by Takayuki Hamana (Erin, Library Wars, Arte) and animated by Seven Arcs Pictures (Trinity Seven, Bermuda Triangle ~ Colorful Pastorale, Vivid Strike!). Yoshimitsu Yamashita (Blade of the Immortal, Phantom: Requiem for the Phantom, Samurai Flamenco) provides the series’ character design while Yoichi Kato (Aikatsu!, Yokai Watch, SCARLET NEXUS) provides series’ composition.
The series stars KENN (Ahiru no Sora, Beyond the Boundary, Space Brothers) as Jinbee Tsukishima, Rumi Okubo (Sabagebu!, One Week Friends, Death Parade) as Hibachi, Takuya Eguchi (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU, My Love Story!!, BAKI) as Shungiku Koikawa, Takuma Terashima (Kokoro Connect, Log Horizon, MEKAKUCITY ACTORS) as Mugai and Yu Serizawa (Real Girl, Magical Girl Site, How clumsy you are, Miss Ueno.) as Tenma Ichinotani.

Sentai will stream Mushibugyo in association with select digital outlets with a home video release to follow.

We're pleased to announce that, starting on December 21, Love Live! School Idol Project will be expanding its availability, with series coming to Funimation in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and Ireland, having already been available in Australia and New Zealand.

The battle begins! We're excited to announce that Fantasia Sango – Realm of Legends is officially headed to Funimation as part of the Winter 2022 anime season lineup!

Official synopsis: When the Three Kingdoms are ravaged by demons and monsters, four heroes with little in common must unite to fight the realm’s most vicious enemies. Together the heroes unveil an insidious conspiracy while sharing the joys and sorrows of battling a mysterious organization intent on tearing them and the kingdoms apart.

The series joins the Winter 2022 anime season lineup from studio GEEK TOYS (Plunderer) and director Shunsuke Machitani. It will stream on Funimation in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Peru.

Sentai will stream the series on HIDIVE during the Winter 2022 Simulcast season for audiences in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Latin America, Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Scandinavia and the Netherlands.

When the monstrous Gyumaoh was defeated by the war god Nataku Taishi and imprisoned in Houtou Castle, an era of peace began in the land of Togenkyo. Now, hundreds of years later, those seeking to resurrect Gyumaoh have unleashed a plague upon the world. The wave of negative power generated by his attempted resurrection has driven youkai to the brink of insanity. To save humanity from violent slaughter, Kanzeon Bosatsu sends Son Goku, Genjo Sanzo, Sha Gojyo, and Cho Hakkai to the west in order to prevent Gyumaoh from rising once again.

Saiyuki RELOAD: ZEROIN adapts the “Even a Worm” arc from the Saiyuki Reload manga by Kazuya Minekura. The manga has 25 million copies in circulation around the world. The anime series is produced by LIDEN FILMS (Blade of the Immortal, Tokyo Revengers, The Heroic Legend of Arslan) and directed by Misato Takada (episode director, Blade of the Immortal). Sentai to Distribute Pierre Ito’s Indie Anime Shorts

HOUSTON, TX — January 20, 2022 — Sentai announced today that they have acquired three fascinating short films produced by Studio KINGYOIRO and up-and-coming anime director Pierre Ito for audiences in North America, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Ireland, South Africa, the Netherlands, Scandinavia and Nordic Countries, Spain, Portugal and Central and South America. The trio of shorts includes Period of the Mouseman, Kenda Master Ken and World, Before You End. The films, independently produced outside the traditional anime studio system, demonstrate the power of ingenuity and raw imagination by a small yet gifted production team.

In Period of the Mouseman, a young man grapples with his transformation into a cyborg modeled after a mouse. Ito previously produced over 70 Mouseman anime shorts, acting as director, storyboarder and character designer. The original version of the film starred Yoshimasa Hosoya (Attack on Titan) as the Mouseman.

In apocalyptic World, Before You End, two people separated by time and space must unravel their tangled history before the world comes to an end. The original version of the film starred Shuta Morishima (WataMote: No Matter How I Look At It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular!) as Rui and Akiko Nakagawa (Inuyasha) as Michiru.

Kenda Master Ken chronicles the exploits of Ken Tamaki as he battles rivals using kendama, a traditional Japanese skill toy. The original version of the film starred Takeshi Maeda (Hunter x Hunter) as Ken Tamaki, Maya Okamoto (Burn Up Excess) as Saori and Misato (Date A Live) as Tamako.

Sentai will release the aforementioned works on select digital outlets with a home video release to follow.
