HOUSTON, TX, April 8, 2019 - Maiden Japan has announced the acquisition of Battle Programmer Shirase, a science-fiction comedy by anime studio AIC (Black Magic M-66, Tenchi Muyo!), director Hiroki Hayashi (Bubblegum Crisis: Tokyo 2040, Tenchi Muyo!) and art director Maho Takahashi (GATE, Hetalia World Series).

Akira's gifted programming and hacking skills have made him a legend on the darker portions of the internet, but in the real world, he's not as impressive. In fact, he's basically a freeloader who depends on the kindness of his teenage great-niece, Misao, to get by. And by get by, we mean that she owns the apartment he lives in and frequently comes over to cook for him! But instead of selling his considerable computer skills for piles of cash to repay Misao with, Akira is happy to do his web-fu in exchange for gadgets and other otaku paraphernalia. However, when the internet begins to be disrupted by a nefarious web presence who goes by the name King Of America, Akira may be the only one who can save the day!

A stand-alone series set in the universe of Magical Girl Pretty Sammy, Battle Programmer Shirase, also known as simply BPS, stars Kazuya Nakai (Asura Cryin', Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) as Akira Shirase, Misato Fukuen (Hataraki Man, To Love-Ru) as Misao Amano, Fumiko Orikasa (Bleach, Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion) as Yoriko Yunoki and Yūko Nagashima (Magic Knight Rayearth, s-CRY-ed) as Sae Motoki.

HOUSTON, TX – April 16, 2019 – Sentai Filmworks today announced that MADE IN ABYSS: Wandering Twilight will premiere at Anime Central in Rosemont, IL, on Friday, May 17 at 8:30 p.m. Sentai Filmworks and Anime Central have teamed up to host a red-carpet event for this final film in the MADE IN ABYSS two-part compendium series. Picking up where MADE IN ABYSS: Journey’s Dawn left off, Wandering Twilight continues the adventures of plucky cave raiders, Riko and Reg, as they confront the mysterious Abyss where sheer excitement and discovery are equally matched by looming danger and certain death. The film includes exclusive content and scenes available for the first time only on the big screen.

Anime Central, the Midwest’s largest anime convention, boasts an attendance of over 30,000 anime lovers. Maiden Japan Snaps up “This Art Club Has a Problem!”

HOUSTON, TX, April 23, 2019 – Maiden Japan announced today that it has acquired the rights to This Art Club Has a Problem! Based on the original manga by Imigimuru, the 12-episode slice-of-life comedy series was produced by studio feel. (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!, Kanamemo) and directed by Kei Oikawa (My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU TOO!, Outbreak Company) with script supervision from industry veteran Naruhisa Arakawa (CLAMP School Detectives, Blue Seed).

A totally ordinary art club at the totally ordinary Tsukimori Middle School. There, Subaru Uchimaki squanders his artistic talent on his true passion and life's mission: drawing the ideal "2D wife." Club member Mizuki Usami finds herself with a crush on the hopeless Uchimaki. The seemingly uninterested club president is always sleeping, but he keeps a close eye on Uchimaki and Usami's antics. Then there's the mysterious Colette, who's usually lost in her own little world. When this ragtag bunch gathers together as the Art Club, there's sure to be some problems...
