HOUSTON, TX — September 20, 2023 — Ahead of the kick-off of its Fall 2023 season, HIDIVE revealed today that it has acquired the new action fantasy TV series The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy based on the popular shōnen light novel series written by Yū Shimizu, illustrated by Asagi Tōsaka and adapted into manga by Keigen Asuka. The long-awaited The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy series premieres October 2 and joins the recently announced title The Vexations of a Shut-In Vampire Princess as an exclusive simulcast series during HIDIVE's upcoming Fall 2023 season.

One thousand years ago, Leonis Death Magnus, undead sorcerer and the greatest of the Dark Lords, entered magical stasis during a climactic battle. When he awakens, he finds a beautiful silver-haired young woman named Riselia standing before him. More shockingly, Leonis has been transformed into a ten-year-old boy! Now he'll have to adapt to this strange era and deal with the twisted monsters called Voids—all while keeping his true powers a secret from his lovely new guardian.

Launched in May 2019, The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy light novel series is published by Kadokawa's MF Bunko J and currently spans 13 volumes. The now 6-volume manga adaptation debuted in November 2019 and is serialized in Kadokawa's Monthly Shōnen Ace. The English language editions of both the light novel and manga series are published by Yen Press.

The Demon Sword Master of Excalibur Academy is produced by Passione with direction by Hiroyuki Morita and writing by Kunihiko Okada. The series stars Honoka Kuroki as Sakuya, Aya Suzaki as Regina, Marina Inoue as Leonis, Yui Ishikawa as Riselia, Arisa Nakada as Shary and Hiromi Igarashi as Elfiné.

The highly anticipated romantic fantasy, which is based on the popular light novel and manga series of the same name by Mei Hachimoku, will open in theaters starting Friday, November 3 throughout the United States. The Tunnel to Summer, the Exit of Goodbyesrecently took top honors in the feature film category at the 2023 Annecy International Animation Festival in France where it was awarded the coveted Paul Grimault Award . The film will be presented in both Japanese with English subtitles and English dub depending on date and theater location. As part of today's news, the companies also revealed they will be hosting a special movie panel featuring the stars of the English dub during New York Comic Con ("NYCC") alongside the earlier announced World English Dub Premiere. The premiere and panel will take place on Thursday, October 12 at 7:30 pm Eastern in Room 405 of the Javits Center at NYCC.

Based on the long-running shōnen manga title of the same name by Takahiro and Yohei Takemura, Chained Soldier is set to premiere as an exclusive simulcast next January on the popular anime streaming service from AMC Networks. HIDIVE also revealed that it will host the North American premiere of Chained Soldier with a special screening of the first two episodes on November 17 at Anime NYC in New York City.

Two supernatural forces appeared simultaneously on Earth: entrances to another dimension known as Mato, and Peaches, resources that give unique abilities to women. The government's Anti-demon Corps stands against these creatures, employing women empowered by Peaches to face the monstrous threat. Yuuki Wakura watches these forces clash from a distance, but when he unexpectedly runs afoul of a Yomotsu Shuuki, he's rescued by Kyouka Uzen, the chief of the Seventh Unit of the Anti-demon Corp—and she sees something in him that could turn the tide of the monster incursion. My Instant Death Ability Is Overpowered is based on the popular isekai novel written originally by Tsuyoshi Fujitaka and illustrated by Chisato Naruse, and the manga serialization by Hanamaru Nanto. This is the newest title in the slate of anime TV series acquired as part of Sentai Filmworks' (Sentai) multi-year agreement with Mainichi Broadcasting System (MBS) that was announced earlier this year.
