If the studios are smart they'll start doing HD-DVD/BR versions of these series as well.
GiTS, .hack, Ergo Proxy, and most others have HD transfers all set to go.

I just wanted to say that Fushigi Yugi is a pretty entertaining TV series.
I forget what the style is called - something about being aimed at girls - but what do i care. It's really funny to me.

I've totally gotten into Anime pretty recently after working in an industry the past year where it is practically mandatory. The irony is that I've ran a comic book store for years that has sold the stuff & I never touched a thing when I could have gotten it for free, & I had a roomate that had a huge collection & all I did was make fun of him.
I don't have much right now but I've seen a lot. I get sent a lot of recent stuff (Bleach, Ergo Proxy) but I can't keep up with the new stuff, I'm just into buy complete sets & watching them that way. Right now I have
Chrono Crusade: The Complete Collection - Just started watching this.
Martian Successor Nadesico: The Complete Collection
R.O.D. - TV Series: The Complete Set & the OVA - This is my #1 favorite so far.
Full Metal Panic! 1C-THP - The Complete Collection - Awesome. Can't wait for more. There is a second season or something coming out soon?
Outlaw Star: The Perfect Collection
Burn Up Excess - The Complete Edition - Was given this the other day b/c a friend didn't want it, haven't watched it yet.
Azumanga Daioh: The Class Album - This was one of the first DVDs anyone gave me & it sat on my shelf forever b/c I thought it looked so retarded. And well. . . it is, but I dug every second of it.
That's pretty much it. There is soooooo much I can't wait to get, I don't even know where to go next. I'm thinking of getting the X-Remix set that comes out this week.

Since you liked Azumanga, I will assume that you don't mind shoujo shows. Some thinpaks that I would definitely recommend are SuperGALS! Ironclad Collection[Rightstuf is going to release Season 2 without a dub on December1], Pretear and the show that I just completed, Kaleido Stage-Amazing Collection.

Could someone help me with the name of a show? I saw it on Cartoon Network years ago so it's kind of hard to remember, but there was a kid whose father died and after that his ghost was a character in the show.
Some of my favorites animes:
Cowboy Bebop
R.O.D the TV
Serial Experiments Lain
Samurai Champloo
and movies:
Spirited Away
Whisper of the Heart
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Winds
I haven't seen enough for a top 10 yet.

Paul Okenfold CD in Rayearth DVD case???!!!
Man, this place certainly does need an Anime subforum. For one, I hope I can get an answer to this odd experience I just had. I came across the OOP Rayearth movie at a Borders. Brand new and sealed! I was happy to get it, as it's a rare find and now starting to go for some money, but when I opened it I was confront ed with a CD by Paul Okenfold called ‘Swordfish.’ WTF?! Is Sire records associated at all with Manga DVDs? How could this happen? Has this happened to anyone that has purchased this DVD or any DVD from Manga?

Other than that, you're right, the relationship is only explored in the manga and novels, but other things in the OAV are of great importance to the plot of the TV series.

I need a little input on the following three series-Angelic Layer, Comic Party and Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. I'm going to buy one of these sets from Rightstuf and was trying to decide which one to go for. Thanks.
