I'm glad I saw this here or I would have skipped the show (like usual). TV on the Radio is one my favorite bands, I can't wait to them.
How do they go from an innovative and unique band like TVOTR one week to a meaningless connect-the-dots band like Jonas Brothers the next?

I thought Bradley Cooper did alright. Thought Weekend Update was solid, and the hockey sketch was hilarious.
Also, I think the Lonely Island songs are hilarious, I dont know why, but I really get a kick out of them... The Boat Song

I laughed once, maybe twice. That's two laughs more than the Steve Martin abomination last week and more than the overall average for the season so far. Things are looking up for snl.

The Steve Martin show was a masterpiece compared to this show.
At least last weeks show had "The Gun"
"Bad Guys Good Conversation" was good.
Sudakis playing the psycho Karate teacher was hilarious along with Bill Hader doing the Silence of the Lambs character.
The Christian Bale parody had potential but it just did not click which was bad since it was ripe for parody.
I liked Keenan Thompsons impression of James Harrison the Steelers Linebacker.
I think that was the funniest thing he has done all season.
I hated the hockey sketch.
that was terrible and entering Maddoff territory.
the rest of the show was forgettable.
I hope the Baldwin show is good but since it will be the 3rd consecutive live show which concerns me.

Re: SNL 02/07/09 - H: Bradley Cooper - MG: TV on the Radio
So, the concept of TV On The Radio is to give everyone different pieces of music and have them play their part as loudly as possible in an attempt to drown out the rest of the band? Yeesh...

Re: SNL 02/07/09 - H: Bradley Cooper - MG: TV on the Radio
TV On The Radio is probably the best musical guest they've had this season. I'm still rather clueless on who Bradley Cooper is but I know he's a manufactured celebrity meaning the studio is just trying to give him exposure so possibly he can be a leading man. Here are other "manufactured" celebs who were relatively unknown when they hosted SNL
Tobey Maguire (pre Spider-Man)
Vince Vaughn (in the 90s)
Shia LeBeouf (pre Transformers)
Colin Farrell
Lindsay Lohan
The Rock
Dane Cook
Luke Wilson
At the time most of then hosted they weren't well known or known at all.

Bad Guys Good Conversation was good, Seth's Really?!? segment in WU also good, and I liked the Mr. Big To Be With You sketch where they kept saying increasingly messed up stuff (though I still the the best was the one a while back with Amie by Pure Prairie League).

Yeah really, I told my girlfriend that it sounded like they all decided to play a totally different song since they all couldn't decided on what to play on the show. I can't remember the last time I hated a musical guest in the way that I did last night.

I'm actually kind of looking forward to the Jonas Brothers. I'm not a fan, but there's usually something interesting about an SNL performance. Musicians definitely bring their "A games," and even if they are playing a game I don't usually follow, it's always entertaining to watch someone performing at that level. I mean, I enjoyed Beyonce's and Kanye's and Duffy's and Fleet Foxes' and even David Cook's sets even though I don't normally listen to any of those acts. The one exception I can think of this season is Taylor Swift, who seems to have more energy in the studio cut of Love Story that they play on the radio than she did on SNL.

I didn't enjoy the "Bad Characters, Good Conversation" sketch nearly as much as most of you. I liked the cold open and the "I'm Going to Have Sex with Your Wife" sketch. The four guys telling inappropriate stories and singing along to the chorus always impresses me just because of the timing of the thing. The Bale sketch was funny just because they had each of the celebrities saying "No Bruce! Let me finish!" in their rants. The Digital Short was great, as is usual from The Lonely Island.

Just caught everything on Hulu for this ep: http://www.hulu.com/collections/177
I thought most of it was okay, but highlights for me were the James Harrison (actually funny), Really?!? (great points there Seth), and the gameshow (for the first few minutes).
The digital short was just like a fart joke... on thing repeated over and over again that's funny the first time but has no replay value. The only thing that saved it was T-Pain (the Posiden reference had me ing).

Re: SNL 02/07/09 - H: Bradley Cooper - MG: TV on the Radio
The show was just OK but I thought Bradley Cooper actually did a great job as host - not too much painful cue card reading and he was up for anything. I am eagerly awaiting INCREDIBAD on Tuesday, so I loved The Lonely Island video.... however TV on the Radio was one of the worst musical performances I've ever seen on SNL. I've heard their stuff before and think they're an alright band but that was just fucking terrible...(Leon, Coldplay and Killers easily trumped this)

Does anyone think The Lonely Island's Jorma and Akiva (currently writers on SNL) will ever become cast members?
