My top favorites are "The Shinning", "The Stand - Uncut", and "Pet Semetary". I also love his memoir "On Writing".

Not one you'll probably hear very often, but I'd actually rank "The Regulators" as one of my favorites -- odd because I didn't care for "Desperation."

Books 1 and 4 of the Dark Tower series are easily high-ranking.

"Pet Semetary" was my first and also on of my faves.

As for more recent ones, I really liked "Cell."

Probably The Shining or Salem's Lot. The only thing I've liked in the last 15 years has been The Green Mile. Couldn't get thru Cell-thought it poorly written.

The Stand, Wizard and Glass, Eyes of the Dragon, I love the first four Dark Tower Books, what I like about Kings books are how characters from other books will pop in and out of other books.

re: whats your fave stephen king book

First 4 books of Dark Tower, Stand Uncut, Misery, and from way way back in the day, The Long Walk which my loving cousin recommended to me, and I had to special order at the library back when it was still Richard Bachman.

Add to that two short stories:
Quitters Inc and The 10 o'clock people

re: whats your fave stephen king book

I haven't read a ton, I'm still fairly new to King. I really like his short stories books due to variety and the fact that I can get through a story fairly quickly. I usually tackle a couple while in between novels.

I really liked The Long Walk, which is technically Bachman. I recently finished The Talisman and enjoyed it a lot. Cell was really good too.

I might move on to Carrie next.

For me it's It - partially because while I was reading it in college, it got to a point where I was too scared to read it at night

Well I'm only about 10 books into my Stephen King quest....but I really loved It, and Cell. Blaze and Rage are up there too as Bachman books.

I keep putting off reading It simply because of it's length. I'm not the fastest reader so I occasionally get impatient about halfway through a book. I'm guessing that I'll finally read it this year though. I hope it's as scary as everybody says it is.

re: whats your fave stephen king book

I like it when King goes epic with a bunch of characters, so for me it's a tie between The Stand (uncut version) and It. But I haven't touched them since they first came out, which has been a while now - I still have their original 1st print hardcovers - I think I'll give the another whirl soon.
