Interesting synopsis. I love this show. Thursday nights are by far my most packed night of the week.

"Mom's a babe! I'm going to hell...again"

Good episode with the backstory. Looks like they are starting the build up to Sam vs Dean

I've been keeping up with this show off and on throughout the first 3 seasons, and have watched all 3 episodes of season four so far, and this show might just be one of the most underrated and underappreciated shows on TV right now. It's shaping up to conclude with an amazingly awesome finale for this season and next.

Now, they need to release season one and two on Blu-Ray with season three so I can completely catch up.

This is going to be the best season yet.

The guy they picked to play the young John Winchester was a hunk.
Fun take on Back to the Future.

Enjoyed the idea that all roads always lead to the same result; destiny can't be altered. Too many time travel episods are circuitous and headache inducing (which the car scene made me initially think we were heading in that direction) but the development of the sam vs dean story was very good and I was SHOCKED when ol' yellow eyes snapped john's neck. Loved it.

Would the demon have found his mother had Dean not mentioned the name of his next victim to his mom? The only reason they were there was because she didnt want her friend to get hurt. She wouldnt have known about it had Dean not been there. Wondering if it was destiny for Dean to travel back.

Best series this year so far based on aired episodes.

Was this the first "To Be Continued..." in Supernatural history? I know the finale of Season 2 was in two parts, but I don't recall it having an actual "TBC".

It seems like they are taking a lot of risks this season, and it's paying off. Sam only spoke one word in this episode! I also think it's interesting that we are seeing everything (so far) from Dean's perspective. Maybe we'll get a Sam/Ruby episode along the same lines as this one, but it doesn't seem likely...

And Jensen Ackles KILLED that one scene with Mary. Holy crap.

Last night was one of the best episodes of this shows run imho. It's unfortunate this show is not on most people's radar and the ratings are so low, esp last night having to go up against the VP debate.

Yeah that was fun to watch, unlike the "Fly" ripoff that aired on Heroes last week.

Hell yeah he did. It's amazing how this show can be intense, scary, funny AND moving all in the same episode. I'm not gonna lie, I was practically tearing up at that scene...some DAMN good stuff. Great episode that really shed some light on the backstory...can't wait for the continuation - as soon as it said 'TBC' I literally yelled out 'Oh shit!'....

Spoiler:
I've heard an upcoming episode will be Supernatural's take on "The Fly", ironically enough.

So what if Dean is still in hell? All of this is some mind-fuck by Lucifer or some demon and once they convince Dean that Sam needs to die or whatever it is they're after then they'll really let him out to do some unwitting damage. Dean keeps seeing flashes and we all assume it's suppressed memories of hell but what if he's actually momentarily seeing through the illusion? Something like that.
Wrong or right I love this show.

Great theory, but they already did the flashes-seeing-through-the-illusion thing when Dean went up against the djin, I doubt they would do that again. It would be cool though

I say it every week, this is the most consistently excellently written and performed show on TV

This episode was great. Love the Back to the Future homage and yes, Mom is a hottie

I was watching this by myself and actually said out loud "son of a bitch!!" when the TBC came up. Something about that is worse than the standard cliffhanger episodes for me. Of course I watched the show over the course of about a month to catch up to the first episode of season 4 so I've never had to wait a week before the start of this season.

The episode was awesome though, ranks right up there with a few of my favorites.

You're probably right about that since this week's episode seems mostly unrelated. Nice catch!
