Sony bringing back some OOP widescreen dvds
I was at Circuit City looking for prices of Sniper 1 & 3, (I have S2 since it was only $3 at Big Lots). I had the original release of Sniper that was the WS/FS flipper. Sony kept the cover art the same, but dropped the FS side replacing it with a label. I then saw Sniper with new cover art plus it said includes a digital copy. It looks like the same stuff as the old version just with the digital copy added all on one disc.
I then looked over and saw Jean-Claude Van Damme's Maximum Risk. This too was originally a WS/FS flipper, then Sony changed the cover art and dropped the WS side replacing it with a label. Now Sony brought back the original cover art showing digital copy included. The cover says that it's in WS only. I didn't buy it yet but, it looks like the same stuff as the old version with the digital copy added all on one disc.

I might buy this one to replace my old WS/FS flipper. Who cares about a stupid digital copy.
I didn't look but I sure there's alot more. Hopefully Sony has gotten through their thick heads and are bringing more WS dvd back.

Knowing them they could have widescreen indicated on the covers but the actual disc could turn out to be the pan & scan version- they've done it before!

So far on the back cover where Sony has been dropping the FS side, they've been printing it out to say widescreen. Not anamorphic widescreen. What I have seen so far is that all these WS only re-releases are the same as the WS/FS flipper. Anamorphic. I've compared: So I Married an Axe Murderer (not the SE version), Sniper, Postcards From the Edge and Maximum Risk. There is a few others I haven't looked at yet.

Yeah, this one was a one point very, VERY hard to find and cost close to $100.00 on eBay.
Now, all of a sudden it has dropped to under 9 bucks NEW!! What on earth happened?? Did they press a new batch of The Spanish Prisoner?
What else of the Extremely RARE DVDs are now easy and cheap to buy?

You can get Wildthings in widescreen again. You have to purchase the 2-dvd of Wildthings and The Craft.
You can also get Look Who's Talking Too in widescreen with the 2-dvd pack with Look Who's Talking. Unfortunately, LWT is still FS.
