Star Trek: Alternate Realities to include Remastered TOS

Like many of you, I subscribe to alerts from tvshowsondvd.com, and I received a head's up from them today concerning the forthcoming Star Trek Collective: Alternate Realities. Why it's not called a Fan Collective, I still don't know, but the point is that the four episodes selected from the original series are going to be the current, digitally remastered episodes! The episodes in question are "Mirror, Mirror," "The Alternative Factor," "The Enemy Within" and "Turnabout Intruder." The last one is what really makes this set noteworthy, as "Turnabout Intruder" is the final original series episode to air, and as yet, they have not broadcast any of the third season episodes in remastered form.

The e-mail I received today questioned if, perhaps down the road, CBS/Paramount is planning to go to a running change of the previous Fan Collectives and include remastered episodes in place of the original versions. There's no official word that that's even being considered, but it would make those sets more appealing to someone like me. As yet, I only own the original and animated series in their entirety, and the first two seasons of TNG.

. Also, don't forget; for those who are interested, the Alternate Realities collection is supposed to include an offer for an exclusive mail-away Geordi LaForge action figure from Diamond Select Toys. The last such offer was for a "Tapestry" Picard that has since commanded up to $60 on eBay. I have little good to say about the company or the quality of their products, but I know there are other fans/collectors who think highly of DST.

If there's anyone who doesn't want their mail-away Geordi form, I'll gladly pay shipping for it. I'm a huge collector of the figures, but not so much on these compilations. If anyone can help out, it'd be greatly appreciated!
