Will we ever see the second and final set come to dvd? I sure hope so as there are some good episodes in this season.

What season had Mummy Daddy? I think it was the first, but wasn't included in that original VHS (except Europe, that's where I had to get mine).

Mummy Daddy was on S1.

S1 hasn't even been out for a year yet, I don't think there's any reason to get anxious about S2 already. I'm sure it will come out eventually, maybe in the next year or so. Not sure how S1 has sold so far, but I bet it's been enough to warrant finishing the series on dvd.

The only reason to get season 2 of Amazing Stories would be to finally get Brad Bird's Family Dog on DVD.

They better put it on DVD!!! Anyway realsing S2 is an incentive for those on the fence about buying S1.

I have this link bookmared: http://www.amazingstoriesdvd.com/ . I check every now and then to see if it's been updated. Though the info on S2 would probably be on DVDtalk before it shows up there.

I thought it was Tim Burton's?

It was Brad Bird. Tim Burton's story about a dog (which was never on Amazing Stories) was Frankenweenie. I am not sure if he ever did anything for Amazing Stories. He did do the Jar for Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

Tim Burton was involved in the animation, and I think he might've wound up as an executive producer on the show or something like that, but the episode was written and directed by Brad Bird.

When the first season of 'Night Gallery' was released, I read that it was unlikely that they'd release anymore because they mainly just wanted to release the episodes Spielberg directed, all in the first season. Hopefully, that won't be the case here. Joe Dante and Tobe Hooper did some pretty good stuff, and I've always been a fan of that Zemeckis episode 'Head of the Class'.

You would think that television shows with a low number of seasons could be knocked out quickly (Twin Peaks not withstanding). Amazing Stories was only on the air for two seasons so one (1) more release would finish the series. Amazing Stories Season One was released July 17, 2006 so hopefully we will be seeing an announcement soon.

Night Gallery would seem to be an easy one to finish up as well. Night Gallery only had three (3) seasons on the air so hopefully Universal will see fit to put out the remaining two (2) seasons soon. (Season one was released August 24, 2004.)

HEY UNIVERSAL!!!! We're still waiting for Kojak Season 2 as well !!! (Season 1 was released over two years ago on March 22, 2005.) And don't forget to add in "The Marcus Nelson Murders"...the Kojak pilot movie you somehow forgot to include on the Season 1 set.

Chances are you will never see Kojak-season two on DVD anytime soon. They only reason they released Season one was to promote the new Kojak on the USA network with Ving Rhames which lasted 10 episodes before it got cancelled.
I don't know how the sales were for the set either. If the sales were great they probally would have released season two soon after.

Don't expect anymore Night Gallery either. This was actually just a release of the movie. Universal figured "why not just tack on the few first season eps. and quadruple the price."

Universal is incredibly frustrating with TV shows. You never know when (if?) they're going to finish. Not only with stuff like this (which would be EASY to finish), but even things like Law & Order. They have a huge freaking pile of seasons to work through and they've still only put them out occasionally. I have no confidence in Universal to finish shows... and unfortunately, Universal has a ton of great ones.

Yes it does. There's a few gems in season 2. "You Gotta Believe Me" and "The 21 Inch Sun" along with "Head of the Class" are my favorites out of the bunch.

If season 2 does not come out I will be livid. The only reason I bought season 1 was to help make sure season 2 comes out so I can own "The Family Dog" on dvd.

I haven't heard anything, but I'm (im)patiently waiting. The 3 soundtrack anthology CDs have all come out and I thought the S2 DVD would be announced shortly therafter.

This was one of those shows that I paid little attention to when it first was on, but then started watching it in re-runs (on Sci-Fi, I think). When they released S1, I HAD to have it.

I purchased Season 1 and as soon as I finished watching it, I was ready for Season 2. Surely there will be an announcement soon? What a disappointment it would be if they didn't release Season 2.

Still haven't heard anything. Were the sales on S1 pretty lackluster?

Does Universal ever do online chats on HTF like some of the other studios do? They would be a good source to ask.

Universal is finally getting out season 4 of Sliders, so i'm sure they will get back to Amazing Stories eventually.

What was your first clue? That this thread wasn't bumped?

I can't imagine why this would be dead. It seems to me that it would get a good number of people into Twilight Zone, and that show did well on DVD. Granted, Amazing Stories is no Twilight Zone, but I am just saying...

Netflix just posted the entire season 2 of Amazing Stories in it's instant download section. They use the same box-art for season 1, which had already been up for a while. Wishful thinking maybe the wheels are in motion now, someone's testing the popularity/marketability? I don't recall seeing Netflix posting any TV seasons that weren't on DVD except this one.
