Battle of the Carpenter flicks! Halloween vs The Fog!
Which of these two Carpenter thrillers do you consider better: Halloween or The Fog?
I am a huge fan of Halloween, but there is something about The Fog that makes it creepier/scarier to me. The idea of Ghosts literally being manufactured out fog is one hell of a spooky concept...more so than the idea of a mask serial killer. I also think Curtis' performance in The Fog is better than it is in Halloween. What do YOU guys think?

I voted for Halloween, but I haven’t seen The Fog in a really long time. I thought The Fog was decent & Adrienne Barbeau is always a treat but Michael Myers is much more ‘cool’ than some pussy fog.

I don't think The Fog is even a good movie. I had to vote for Halloween by a country mile. But Carpenter's best film is The Thing by another country mile.

Exactly. I would have had to think about that one for awhile.
The Fog is a terrible movie.

The Thing wins out over both. Just watched it on HD last night, awesome .

This is practically a Sophie's Choice decision for me, but Halloween has always had a certain nostalgic quality for me, so that'd be my choice. That isn't to take anything away from The Fog, however, since I think it's easily one of Carpenter's strongest films. Early Carpenter (pre-Memoirs) films helped make him my favorite director.

I know most people consider Halloween to be classic but for me years and years of crappy knockoffs have left Halloween to be somewhat predictable ( I know. It shouldn't, but it does).
The Fog, on the other hand, genuinely creeps me out when I see it - even if 45% of it is terribly boring.

Sorry to go against the grain. Although I love each of them:
#1 The Thing
#2 The Fog
#3 Halloween
Halloween may be a better movie quality wise, but the Fog (IMHO) is much scarier to me. Being scary is one of the top criteria for me in judging a "horror" movie. Besides I still maintain (with the exception of Donald, of course) the acting and dialogue is much better in the Fog.
Supernatural/ ghost movies have always terrified me more than serial killer movies.

Like 'em both, but have to go with Halloween. No surprise it's running away in the poll....there is a reason why they've made umpteen (or so it seems) Halloween sequels.

I love 'em both equally...ever since I saw them in the movie theatre as part of a double feature that I wasn't supposed to see (rated R, and all that..)
