Casn anyone tell me exactly what I have to do to get MAME to work? I swear to god I've tried it so many times and have never gotten one game to work. So much more complicated than console emulators.
(oh and btw mods, roms are illegal, but emulators aren't so don't edit this out!)

To those of you asking about MAME, I was going to open a separate thread on it so as for it not to get lost in this thread, but since I'm not sure whether or not it's against the forum's policies, I will simply provide the link to the official MAME home page, where I downloaded it. It is The Official MAME Home Page. From there, you can download it, and they should explain how to use it.

Don't forget there is MAME and MAME32. MAME32 is the Windows version and is much easier to set up though it has a little more overhead due to Windows, so memory intensive games like Stun Runner will only work on a PIII smoothly. For plain old DOS MAME use a front end like ARCADEOS. This cool front end also allows you to use most of your other old PC or video game emulators. I think you can have 7 mapped to it at a time. Also if you are truly in need of the ultimate experince build your own control panel with original joysticks, trackballs and buttons. There is a masterful site http://www.arcadecontrols.speedhost.com/arcade.htm
With many many tutorials on how to do this. You can also go the quick and easy route by getting a HOTROD SE from Hanaho products. It's about $200.00 (Though can be found for $100 if you look hard enough)If you want the true arcade feeling sans trackball and spinner, this is the way to go. Hell you can even buy a whole cabinet from them. (Or don't forget you can build your own, which is what I'm doing) Anyway do a search on HOTROD SE and you will find it.

Hope this helps you guys out. Later.

GALS PANIC I remember playing this one at the store down the street from me, trying to reveal the naked picture of the anime babe behind the puzzle or something like that.

Mame V 32 is easy as hell to use. No need to use DOS commands, it runs directly from Windows. I used to have a bitch of a time running it from DOS, system would lock up and whatnot, but the new version definately kicks major ass

I'd love to get a look at your ROM list sfsdfd

I always loved Centipede. Satan's Hollow was cool. You can play a version of that on Shockwave.

GI Joe was a lot of fun, but I can't find that for any engine. Anyone know what emulator plays it?

I was lucky and finally found the Final Burn emulator and roms too. I love Aliens Vs. Predator.

and on MAME -- Captain Commando, Punisher, etc.

Anyone know how to play a game like T2 the arcade game with the gun on a PC? And is Alien 3: The Gun available anywhere?

thanks,
Tuan Jim

Shooters Recommendation

I'd recommend Guwange and ESP Ra. De. Both are kick-ass shooters with great graphics released in the last three years. It's by far the best shooter games I've played in terms of control and originality.
