Atari Flashback Portable!

I'm not a big 2600 fan (quite the opposite).. but this is pretty sweet all the same.

That's cool but without the Atari joystick it's not the same.

Interesting. I'm wondering if someone (Nintendo / Sony?) will release a modern handheld that plays downloadable games.

In 2017 they released a new Atari Flashback Portable that has 70 games. More importantly, it also has an SD slot so you can legally add any games that you already own on cartridge (you'll have to copy the ROM from the cartridge to an SD card - you can not just put the cartridge in).

Both of the TV hosts in this video claim that the included Pac-Man is the Atari 2600 version. But it's not. It's a home brew.



The version of Frogger is also different than the Atari 2600 version. Of course if you already own the cartridges you can legally put the real versions of Frogger and Pac-Man on the SD card.
