DVD Talk Gold Edition
For the Atari 800 and 130 XE, I liked (going by company):
Lucasfilm Games (as it was known back then):
Ballblazer
Rescue on Fractalus (a game that gave many unsuspecting players heart attacks when the Jaggi popped in front of the cockpit)
Broderbund:
Choplifter
Gumball
Karateka
Infocom:
Just about anything they put out were pretty good, even if it was just text
Synapse:
Blue Max
Fort Apocalypse
Pharoah's Curse
Shamus
Shamus: Case II
Epyx:
Pitstop
Summer Games
World Karate Championship
Sierra On-Line:
Frogger (excellent translation of the arcade game)
Jawbreaker
Activision:
The Great American Cross-Country Road Race
Hacker
Pitfall II (it included an "adventurer's edition" that was exclusive to this system)
Datasoft:
Bruce Lee
First Star Software:
Boulderdash
Electronic Arts:
One on One
The Realm of Impossibility
Utopia Software
Montezuma's Revenge (the original prototype before Parker Bros. watered it down)
And too many others to list...

Gotta be CHAOS. THat game ruled. I just recently found a ROM and emulator and can now play on my PC at work.
CHAOS was a game where you where a Mage, and cast spells to kill up to 7 other mages. You could summon varius monsters, and kiiler spells.

1. Ultima IV
2. Karateka
3. Wasteland (I liked it better than Bard's Tale)
4. Miner 2049er
5. Montezuma's Revenge

Amiga
Definitely Lotus Turbo Challenge I just loved the music on this game, and the split screen two player duals. I will PAY to get an Amiga and this game together. For those interested, if you type in TURPENTINE while the game loads, you can have unlimited time on all the stages to finish the race.
