The One and Only LAS VEGAS on NBC Discussion Thread
The past couple of movies I have seen in the theater have featured a promo for a new NBC drama called "Las Vegas."
The show looks promising, and has James Caan as the star. To me, it will have some of the feel of CSI because of the location, and some of the feel of the movie 'Honeymoon in Vegas' because of James Caan.
Anyone know more about this show?
PS: Hope my thread isn't a dupe, I tried a search but found nothing.

I don't know...
I've been burned by shows "Starring the city of Las Vegas as itself" before...
Might give it a try...when's it on?
::side note::
As I was standing in line at the supermarket, I picked up a Soap Opera mag [Vanessa was on the cover]. Inside they mentioned a rumour about trouble on the show.
Now, every time Vanessa leaves General Hospital, these mags ALWAYS put her on the cover with blurbs like "Will Vanessa come back?" & "Vanessa will return...?" while the inside is the same she says "I love GH and will always return when I can"..
Make of that what you will..

I'm actually looking foward to it. I'm adding it to my season pass tonight. I need a new show to pick up this season. Hopefully between this and Karen Sisco one of them will hit with me.

Alright - the narration didn't bother me one bit this episode.
I agree w/ zuffy - it's pretty damn cool. James Caan is the man and Molly Sims is hot as hell. The rest of the ladies are nothing to complain about either.

too bad this is on during MNF and conflicts w/ CSI Miami. I'll probably watch it after the season is over.

Might be a Monday night mainstay on the Season pass for me too; but I hope they don't use this 'cheater' plotline in too many episodes. It gets boring after a while, especially after all the movies and countless times it's been done on other TV shows.

EW shows Las Vegas as having a 9pm regular timeslot, while CSI:Miami has a 10pm timeslot. Looks like the 10pm slot was just this once. Tivo has the next weeks episode of LV at 9pm.

Nice eye candy on display, and I thought I'd hate the main young guy, Danny, but I didn't.
Nikki Cox isn't aging gracefully, looking plain (except for the hooters on display, of course). Now Vanessa Marcil is a different story...she's yummy.
The whole running joke about everyone knowing Danny slept with his boss's daughter cracked me up.
James Caan as the hard-ass father also cracked me up. Don't know how long they can sustain that aspect of this new development between his daughter and Danny.
I'll tune in again for now.

I don't understand the Nikki Cox comment...she still looks hot. As for Vanessa, well, my opinion hasn't changed. Waiting 37 minutes for her appearance was a crime.
I'm wondering how long they can keep this show going...

Wow, I loved this show. Seriously. It was really entertaining and I actually liked all of the characters (which is pretty rare).
I've been wanting to go to Vegas again for the past few months and this show just makes me want to go even more.
The women on the show are fantastically hot. Josh Duhamel was pretty likeable, James Caan was pretty funny, and James Lesure did a good job as well.
Sure, it's up against MNF, but that's what VCRs and DVRs are for.
Next week's episode looks a lot more serious...it'll be interesting to see that after this week's "light" episode.
The cheater guy in this episode looked awfully familiar when he was wearing the hat and shades. I swear that it was a real-life poker champion, but I can't remember his name. Or maybe it was just a look-alike.
Nice cameo by Phil Maloof.

I also LOVED this show... everything was just right, perfect tone, great acting and a decent pace... I hope this show continues to be this good for the rest of the season...

I liked the show alot, but the gambling details are going to irk me to no end.
The cheating guy: Even if you are cheating, you're not going to win every hand. Even if you know the dealer's cards, you're not going to win every hand. And what if, on that last 'all-in' hand, he had hit blackjack? They already knew the guy was cheating...so I guess even if he had won it, they could have taken all the money, but why the need to risk that last hand?
Besides all that, I liked the show.
